Josh Jacobs Arrest: NFL Star Faces Serious Domestic Abuse Charges
Packers running back Josh Jacobs faces serious legal charges, raising questions about his NFL future and the league's handling of domestic violence cases.

These stories come around far too often, and you have to deal with them.
but it's a, a May 23rd, complaint, and now an arrest and a full-on investigation into Packers running back Josh Jacobs, who yesterday morning was arrested and booked into Brown County Jail on five charges.

Again, innocent until proven guilty.
Yep.
Obviously we just saw that with the Stefon Diggs case, but this one seems to have much more legs to it than the, Stefon Diggs case with his, private chef.
He's been accused of five charges: battery/domestic abuse, criminal damage to property/domestic abuse, disorderly conduct/domestic abuse, and here are the two, kind of action words if you ask me, strangulation and suffocation.
And the final charge was intimidation of a victim.
so obviously, he was, arraigned, I guess, yesterday, or arrested yesterday, and now he's gonna have to fight for his freedom, and he's gonna have to prove to, a jury, if it gets that far, that five different charges against him are all nonsense.
Now, I'm not gonna claim to know anything about it, 'cause I don't.
I read the same thing you read and everybody else read.
Yeah.
sometimes you read a case, and just on face value, you say to yourself, "Guilty."
Yep.
Sometimes you read a case, and on face value you say to yourself, "Man, I don't know.
Seems a little fugazy."
Yeah.
And obviously it's case by case how you feel about it.
I know nothing about this case whatsoever, other than what's been made public.
Mm-hmm.
So there's no inside information.
I haven't talked to anybody at all.
But it seems like he did something really, really bad, and whatever's gonna come his way, again, innocent until proven guilty.
These are allegations.
Mm-hmm.
He, gets his day in court.
He gets to disprove everything and knock on wood it didn't happen, 'cause that means a woman was not physically injured- Yes by, a much, more physical and bigger football player.
But if any of it is accurate and true, he should go to jail for a long time.
Yeah.
He should never play football ever again.
Yep.
And, you know, I wonder now how the, Green Bay Packers and how the NFL handles this.
They, collectively, not the Packers, I can't speak to them, but the NFL, as you know, has a bit of a shoddy track record when it comes to things like this, and their go-to is typically, "We're gonna let the process play itself out before we get involved."
Okay, I understand that.
Like I said, innocent until proven guilty.
I'm not sure if you can do that on this one.
No.
Strangulation and suffocation.
Yeah.
Now- Those are two pretty bad words.
Yeah, now normally Now again, I don't know about this case, but something happened in Philly back in 2020, right before COVID.
He ended up missing that whole year with a player named Abduba Herrera- Okay who did the same, was accused of the same thing, to the point where his, he left hand marks on his fiancee's throat.
So when the cops arrived, they saw his hand marks on her throat.
I was told usually when they charge that, it's because the police have physical evidence- Okay on her neck.
So most likely, not 100%, but most likely when the police arrived after this complaint, they saw physical markings on the victim's neck, and that's why he was charged that way.
For me personally- Now, he's denied all the charges- Right he has.
Okay, go ahead.
Again, for me personally, if, we don't know innocent or guilt yet, if there were physical marks on her throat made by him, that's enough for me to say, "You can't play in the NFL this year."
That's enough for me.

Now, he, here's a quote from, his lawyer.
"Josh vehemently denies the allegations."
Okay.
Again, that's fine.
Mm-hmm.
I expect that.
Yep.
"And this matter's in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public."
That's according to his, lawyers.
Mm-hmm.
"We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course."
Okay.
He's in his third season with the Packers.
Obviously, was with the Raiders before that.
Really good football player.
Wildly talented football player.
Yeah.
the Green Bay Packers obviously are aware of this.
The NFL's come out and said, "We're aware of the report have been in contact with the club."
he's a former rushing title winner when he was with the Raiders before going to Green Bay.
He was a first team all-pro selection in 2022, and he's now almost 10 years now into the NFL.
Look, I hope it didn't happen.
Me too.
I do, because the thought of Josh Jacobs, you know, suffocating and strangling, a, a woman- Yeah I assume it's his partner, fiance, girlfriend, wife- Mm-hmm whatever it might be, makes me sick to my stomach.
But he is due his day in court.
He is.
He is given the opportunity, rightfully so, to defend himself and to prove to us that the allegations are false.
I'm always interested in how the NFL reacts to it, what the NFL does.
Mm-hmm.
And we've seen far too many cases where the NFL doesn't do all that much.
Yeah.
Now, I- I've always said this, Ray Rice is one of my closest friends in the world.
Mm-hmm.
He and I grew up in the same town.
Ray's like family to me.
So I know what it's like to be friends with someone who's accused of it.
Obviously in Ray's case there was video.
Yep.
And, the video, speaks for itself, which is why Ray Rice, who was originally suspended for four games- After telling the truth after telling the truth, to both Roger Goodell- And the owner and to the owner- Mm-hmm of the Baltimore Ravens, and then the thing, you know, grew like wildfire.
Mm-hmm.
And, Ray Rice obviously never played another down of football again, which was sad to me as a friend.
What he did was wrong.
He deserved to be punished for what he did, I wanna be clear about that.
And I know full well if there was no video of it, Ray Rice would have continued to play football.
Oh, yeah.
Doesn't change what happened.
It was wrong, it was offensive, and it was very hard to watch, because I know his wife as well.
Mm-hmm.
that being said, Ray Rice is one of the few guys that paid for, his actions with his career.
Yes.
I'm not sure if anyone else ever has, as a matter of fact, when it comes to domestic violence, okay?
Right.
So I'm always interested in what the NFL does.
The NFL likes to hide behind the notion of, "We're gonna let the legal process play out before we get involved."
But man, as the details of this one comes out, or the details of the allegations come out, do you really want him on a football field on a Sunday representing what I was always told is the thing that they protect the most, which is the shield, the NFL logo?
Right.
You can't.
Now again- You can't I don't think you can.
You can't.
And I don't th- and again, I'm not condoning even like a backhanded slap in a couple's, argument.
Right.
All of it's wrong.
I don't condone that.
Right.
All of it's wrong.
But I can tell you this, as the father of a daughter and the husband of a wife, strangulation and suffocation is not something that's thrown out there willy-nilly.
It's just not.
Usually not.
Now, are there women out there that invent domestic abuse for this reason and another?
Yes.
Yes.
Sadly, we've seen it.
We saw it with Stefon Diggs- Yep literally a month ago.
Yep.
And Stefon, t- thankfully, got his day in court, and she was debunked very, very quickly- Yeah by his attorney.
Every part of it.
And- Every part of it it was just an obvious money grab- Yep or some kind of grab.
Mm-hmm.
But he didn't do the things that she accused him of.
So I'm glad that we let that play out.
This one just feels kind of different.
