So Jacobs has two more years left on his deal.
but the way they structured it, though, his base salary is gonna jump up to 10.2 million this season, 12.2 million next season.
And this is, He's gonna turn 28 in February.
He's coming off a year in which he was injured quite a bit.
You can save, you can save some decent money by getting rid of him, and then it kinda come- you kinda come down to this, this idea of do you pay running backs, you know- Oh ... as they get older?
So let's talk about Josh Jacobs.

That, oh, man, that's tough because the writing's on the wall.
Because as they, like you said, as they structure it, and he gets more expensive towards the end of that deal, that is prime time cut.
And you look at teams like Chicago, where they find Kyle Munongai in the seventh round- Right, right ... and he becomes an RB2.
You look at- Isaiah Pacheco was another one with Isaiah Pacheco, late draft pick, right?
And you, you look at the Raiders who took Austin Gen- or, yeah, Austin Gent Austin?
That doesn't sound right.

Um- I didn't watch a single Ashton Gent, Gente.

they take him with the number whatever, three overall pick last year.
Yeah, yeah.
And he was just a total disappointment.
It's like, you can find these guys.
Unfortunately, the running back position is like, don't invest in it, and that's the hard part.
Because, Andrew, we talked all year, man, like, what did we call Josh all year long?
The great, like, sta- we called him a stabilizer.
Straight up, he's the heartbeat of that offense.
We called him a stabilizer all season long.
That's a hard one to get rid of, man, but, like, that is the type of guy who you cut.
Like, that's the type of guy, 'cause you're like, "Hey, we gotta go draft a piece," right?
Go, go pick up somebody in the third round or the fifth round and be like, "Okay."
And they, and they saw from Emmanuel, Emmanuel, help me, uh- Emmanuel Wilson.

Maybe you saw enough from him where you're like, "All right, we're plugging you into the one.
We're gonna draft somebody- Yeah ... or sign somebody, and Josh, go find a new home."
Interestingly, though, Wilson is a restricted free agent- Okay ... which means they'll have to tender him.
Now it's, like, 3.2 million, I think.
Yeah.
So they could bring him back for a season.
but you're right.
I think that, you know, unfortunately, if, if you play chess, you've got pawns, right?
And the pawns are really there just to kind of move around, and they're there to get beat up, and, and, ultimately you discard them.
And, unfortunately, I think that's kind of what the running back position has become.
