Jameer Gibbs got his payday and it was a big one.
He is now the highest paid running back in NFL history.
And now that's caused some concern for Lions fans, obviously, because there are two other big extensions that need to be done soon.
Sam LaPorta, Brian Branch, both those guys are expected to be near market setting or potentially just straight up market setting deals for the Lions where they would be the highest paid safety, highest paid tight end in the league.
And that's got some people freaked out because they're like, man, Kirby's the highest paid, was the highest paid safety.
Amon Ross got a huge contract.
Penne Sewell's got a huge contract.
Jared Goff has a giant contract.
Jack Campbell's got a giant contract.
Aiden Hutchinson has one.
The Lions have put over a billion dollars into keeping this team together, which by the way, I don't know why people keep thinking Brad Holmes is cheap.
A billion dollars is a billion dollars, man.
Not a whole lot of other teams doing that.
