Who's with you this weekend?

My whole family.

My, my mom, my dad, my mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law.

I got cousins, friends, aunties, uncles here.

The whole and I think this is probably the largest crowd I've ever had at a track meet.

But this was, like, my last meet in the States before I go overseas to compete, so they were like, "Where is it at?

New York?

We gonna make it happen."

So I'm so grateful to have them here today, and then also throughout the weekend.

A lot of them, like, my best friend, her mom came, and this is her first time in New York.

Like, stuff like that makes me feel good.

It's like, if I wasn't here running, then who knows if she would've, you know, ever came out here and wanna sightsee and stuff.

So it's been fun having them here.

This 400 win, has it kind of just validated some of the hard work?

Yeah.

So I've been battling it back and forth all year.

'Cause it's like, it's an off year, so it's like, but you won the 100 and the 200, so it's like, do you run more 100s than 200s?

Do you run more 200s than 100s?

So right now I'm at a pretty good balance.

Bri gave me two more 100s, and so this meet here will give me two more 200s.

So I'll be equal going into, the third part of the year.

Well, the last part of the year.

And so I didn't wanna go, I also didn't wanna go into ultimate championship only having one 200 under my belt, and that was in June.

That was gonna hurt.

So, you know, the biggest thing was just for me to come out here, test my fitness, get stronger, and, you know, get ready to go back home, train, and go overseas.

So you intend to double at the World Ultimate Championship?

Yes, yes.

When you won at Prix, it looked like a very emotional win for you.

Mm-hmm.

I'm curious, afterwards, you kind of alluded to mental warfare you go through on a daily basis.

Yeah.

What were you referring to?

Life in general.

And obviously I know a lot of people thought that I was just talking, or I may have been alluded to, you know, my training partner, but that wasn't necessarily the case.

You know, we're track athletes, but we're also human beings at the end of the day.

So I've had a lot of things going on within my family back at home.

Sickness and things like that.

Just battling it through, trying to come to practice every day, and still be the best version of myself.

Obviously, like, the race showed you that, like, when it comes to everybody getting on the line, like, the emotions can be high.

And I can also look at myself in the mirror and say, you know, my reaction after the race, I don't regret it, but also it wasn't fully me as well.

You know?

It was just at a moment where, you know, I'm trying to just work through everything that I've been, dealing with.

And, you know, it was that.

At the end of the day, I was happy for the win.

And it was a good indicator as to where I'm still trying to go for this year.

So, yeah.

How's the dynamic within your training group?

Obviously you've got a lot of talented women- Yeah at the race, so what's it like working- Yeah, I mean, it's, it's intense.

Like, you know, we all want the same things at the end of the day, but we all work towards making each other better, however that may look.

Sometimes it might not look as friendly as others, but at the end of the day, that's what it's about.

Us all coming together and, working out, but also wanting to be the best versions of ourselves within that.

How are you feeling after that?

Yeah.

Any more questions?

Adam.

I was going to say, do you feel any pressure to defend going into World Ultimate Championships differently?

Yeah.

Do you feel pressure this year to maintain what you did last year?

I would say at the beginning of the year I kind of did.

But now I'm at a point in the year now where, like yesterday I was sitting in the hotel and I just got filled with nothing but gratitude for who I am.

The journey that I've walked so far, the journey I'm continuing to walk, not a lot of people can, can walk it the way that I have been.

And so I find comfort and confidence in that, and I feel like that's strong enough to carry me through the rest of the year, whatever that may look like for me.

Congratulations.

Thanks.

You're making a statement so far, 22.50 in the opening.

What do you feel like went well?

I feel like my execution.

My coach told me to get out, and then hold my drive for as long as I could.

Setting up, coming into and off of the turn.

And so I feel like I did a good job of that.

And also once I got off the turn, just making sure to keep my frequency up, keep my rhythm.

But then also trying to just conserve as much energy as possible.

This track is fast.

It said that I kind of was jogging, in a sense, and still went 22.5.

Like, that indicates that I'm in really good shape and ready to run something fast tomorrow.

Thank you.

Congratulations.

Thank you.

Thank you all.
