The Mets are seven and 16, and statistically, their season is already over.
New York dropped their 12th straight Tuesday, blowing a three nothing lead to the Twins.
This after starting the year seven-four and actually looking like a contender.
Here's where it gets ugly.
Stat one, five more losses ties the all-time Mets record for longest losing streak, set by the 1962 expansion team that went 40 and 120.
That team is considered one of the worst in baseball history.
Stat two, and this one's brutal, no team in MLB history has ever made the playoffs after losing 12 in a row.
Not once in 150-plus years of baseball.
The Mets would need to make history just to reach October.
It's April, and they're already asking for a miracle.
