What's your message to the guys just as the game's going on and on and on as far as trying to keep them motivated?
I know that's something you enjoy doing.
Yeah, for me it was just the belief.
You know, I was just trying to, give the guys in front of me a chance, you know?
And then, you know, I had, I had the belief again that, you know, that, that they are gonna capitalize.
So, obviously, glad that they did and, even better that, it was Jori postin'.
What, what was your mindset going into the series and w- d- was there ever at, at any point was there ever any doubt that crept into your mind or, or do- how, how are you able, I guess, just stay on the level?
Well, there was never a doubt.
I think I can speak for the whole locker room, there was never a doubt.
If somebody had a doubt, that's their problem.
It's not, that's not us.
We, we, we all believe that we can do it and for me was nothing was changing, you know?
you know, as I, as I said before the series, I, I cannot try to stop the puck harder.
You know, I can still continue to do the same thing, still being positive because, you know, I f- I f- and be a, be a good person because I feel like good things happen to good people, and we are good people in here, so we deserve this.
Dan, the satisfaction of stopping 42 shots in a game like this one, that gives you guys the series win and advances you guys to the second round of the playoffs.
What's your emotion and feelings right now about having a game like this one at an important time as, as you had it?
Well, I mean, it's playoffs so everybody's just gonna remember the winner, so it doesn't matter if it's one-nothing or seven, six, eight, seven, you know?
So for me, it's just the winning mentality and as I said, my goal is just to let one goal less than the other guy that's, on the other side of the, of the rink.
Well, how do you not love the guy?
I mean, he's like, "Oh, I shoulda had this goal," and he was blaming himself, like blaming himself for lastly.
That's not his fault, and that's what he does.
He's taking the bullet for some guys, you know?
A- and, or the team.
A- and taking the bullet for me like, you know, I g- can't lie, you love the guy and he puts that kind of effort.
You know?
Like, he, he's been great all series.
He's been great all year.
but he was phenomenal tonight for us
