NHL Rumor Roundup: Latest On The Notable Trade Candidates On Deadline Day

Good morning, everybody.
I'm Lyle Richardson of the Hockey News, and we're very early in the morning here on the eve of the NHL trade deadline.
And I've got my morning coffee on the go, and I'm speaking quietly because I don't want to disturb my family while they're still sleeping.
So let's crack right on with the latest on St. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas.
It's been reported that the Utah Mammoth believe that they could offer up the best trade package for the 26-year-old center.
And it's also been reported that the Detroit Red Wings, the Boston Bruins, and the Seattle Kraken are also interested, but they're waiting to see if the Blues will lower their asking prices for Thomas.
Asking price is also an issue for teams that are interested in the New York Rangers center Vincent Trochek.
The Minnesota Wild were considered to be frontrunners, but they've taken a step back in those negotiations.
Meanwhile, the Carolina Hurricanes and the Detroit Red Wings are also said to be interested, but like the Wild, they would prefer if the Rangers lower their asking price.
Believe it or not, there are teams that are still interested in the Nashville Predators forward Steven Stamkos, despite his recent comments that he has zero interest in waiving his no-movement clause.
However, with the Predators now sellers, you can't blame some teams for wanting to check in and just to make sure.
As for Nazem Kadri of the Calgary Flames, the Flames had a conversation with the Colorado Avalanche about Kadri, but they couldn't get a deal done, and the Avalanche instead acquired Nicolas Waugh from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Pierre Lebrun of TSN claimed that the Montreal Canadiens also were linked to the 35-year-old center, but they're not going to get too deep into those conversations unless the Flames are willing to retain part of the 35-year-old's $7 million average annual value.
