Oli Marmol on Young Cards: 'We Won’t Have Guys Sulking, Giving Away Games'
The Cardinals are on a season-worst four-game losing streak, but there is still a belief in place that they have the right players and the necessary toughness to get back to their winning ways.

St. Louis Cardinals are coming off a rough three days in Milwaukee.
They were swept by the Brewers three straight.
It was their first sweep in Milwaukee since 2011.
Now we're all curious to see how they're gonna respond.
I'm John Denton with Roundtable Sports.
The last time the Cardinals were swept, it was at home, it was late April, and they were playing a Mariners team that was playoff-tested.
How would the Cardinal-- young, feisty Cardinals respond to that?
Well, they won six of their, their, their next six games in a row, and they went on a stretch where they won 14 out of 20. they're gonna need to do that again coming off a rough series in, in Milwaukee.
you know, we all know on Wednesday, Dustin May pitched seven no-hit innings.
He was brilliant.
He struck out a season-best nine.
the Cardinals went on to lose that game, even though they were leading one-nothing going into the eighth.
they gave up two runs in, in the eighth inning.
the Cardinals didn't have a hit with a runner in scoring position on Wednesday.
They didn't have a hit with a runner in scoring position the whole series against the Brewers, O for 17.
Can this young team, rebound the same way they did earlier this season after that Mariners sweep?
They went on a nice little run.
It really showed something about the fortitude of this team.
Now's the time for this team to kinda make hay.
The Cardinals are in town.
S- they're off on Thursday, but starting Friday, they have their longest home stand of the season.
They play nine straight at home.
this is gonna be a, a big stretch for the Cardinals.
It starts off, of course, they have three against a, a Cubs team that has abs-- been absolutely baffling so far.
The Cubs have two 10-game winning streaks.
They have a 10-game losing streak.
The Cubs have been so wildly all over the board.
you know, the Cardinals are kinda limping in, so it's gonna be really interesting to see which team responds to this series.
But, you know, the Cardinals have the, like I said, the longest home stand of the season.
They play nine straight at Busch Stadium.
you know, this is the chance to put that Milwaukee series behind them and start playing good baseball again.
The offense has fell, has really fallen off in May.
J- JJ Weatherholt has struggled.
Mason Wynn has struggled.
Nolan Gorman's strikeouts are through the roof in May.
this team really has to get back to the offense that they had early in the season.
They're pitching well enough to win these games, but the, the hitting has really let them down so far.
They've been shut out three times in the last nine games, and in two of those games, they only scored one run.
So a lot of this, chance to, to rebound and, and get back on track falls on the offense.
They need to pick up the bats.
Thursday's off day will help.
you know, may- maybe being back in Busch Stadium will help.
Maybe if the Tarps Out crew has the T-shirts rolling, maybe that'll help them.
But, you know, right now it's another one of those big inflection points to see if this young, feisty Cardinal team can, can rebound from a rough stretch.
They did it last time when they got swept by Seattle.
Can they do it again this time?
It's gonna be interesting to see over these next nine games at Busch Stadium.
