Raiders CB Eric Stokes Presser Confidence and Leadership on Field

Video Transcript

Different from just seeing how daring were last year.

Man, just the confidence that he shows, the growth and all that stuff to it, like the VP is becoming, he's fing out everything to it, like it's only his 2nd year playing corner, I wanna say cause, uh, he played 1 year at Iowa State and then he moved on to 1 year in the league.

So, uh, just figuring out like, OK, I can actually do this and all that stuff and just be able to be confident with everything that he do and it's showing up constantly to, uh, he's being able more confident with his press work, and getting out the breaks and all that stuff, so it's gonna be a good.

So you wanted to grow more as Speaking of both your eyes, they all speak.

He Does that give you any confidence in you that introduces knowing that you feel more confident?

Oh for sure, to, like it's just a growing pains like I always say, Tel, like I'm gonna try to help you out any way possible because I've been through a lot from first round pick to not even been playing my last year in Green Bay to working my way back into everything I done did.

So first one, man, I have seen both tails of it.

So I'm just trying to help you out to where any little thing that can go, uh, so, I'm just trying to let you know like this is, this is how the game goes and this is what you wanna do and this is what you don't want to do and all that stuff.

So just, just dropping little gems on them and all that stuff and just keeping them.

Up and pretty much up to date with everything.

So like even with the walkthroughs , don't even take that for granted.

Like go back there, steal a rep, be behind the person, just go ahead and do those smaller things and go ahead and show you that life and I can go ahead and build confidence for any little thing.

So like the biggest thing for me is just the walkthroughs.

So that's the easiest way to build confidence with your technique, with your scheme, with anything.

So like you treat that like a game cause man, you may not get this rep anytime during practice, but you got to do a walkthrough.

But I treated this like the game rep.

So when I see it during the game, it's like, oh man, I already did this multiple times.

I already did this process.

I already did this step.

I did everything so many times.

So when the game comes, it's like, man, it is what it is.

I can go in there and let go of everything and just play free.

Is that just something that I've been.

always thought of the way that you go about things in specific with the walkers or is that something on the coaching staff.

Um, it was something that was brought up to me about my 3rd year in the league.

I always say appreciate that to G. I will always, uh, appreciate him for that as well.

He just started teaching me the importance of a walkthrough to where, like, man, no, these are free reps.

These are free things just to steal that people just take away from and all that stuff.

So once he's changed my mindset about my 3rd year in the league, it's just something that I take forever and I just want to pass it on cause I've seen how much that helped me, helped me.

Grow and all that stuff to it like by the time it came to game time, man, I did the same little foot in the same little break multiple different times during walkthroughs to it.

I know exactly how my feet are supposed to be.

I know everything.

So when it's not, I know exactly.

I know why it was that, why that would be like that.

Everything is on me because pretty much that's what it is.
