Even though you said he wasn't necessarily impressed with the way you ran the ball, Mike Washington had a, you know, a few big plays.

Can you just talk about his maturation throughout camp and also what you saw from the day.

Yeah, I think you saw today what you see in practice.

So, uh, very few guys just rise to the occasion and become gamers.

They just show it to you in practice first.

So Mike is done in practice.

He's done in the game, and we just got to keep challenging him and putting more on his shoulders.

I know that you're left practice early yesterday and then he was here today, but he wasn't with the team on the field.

What's the update on him?

Yeah, you know, he's , uh, he got banged up in practice yesterday.

We wanted to be cautious today and we got to keep evaluating and moving forward.

Is there any, has he been ruled out for Thursday yet?

Uh, I would not expect JBJ to play Thursday night.

I'm sorry.

I, I know, I know you're not ever satisfied, but to come in against a playoff team like this, your team held their own.

And are you at least, can you, can you take some pride in that?

It wasn't like they dominated you guys at all today.

Yeah, well, we didn't expect to be dominated.

You know, I think our guys, our guys have a high standard, you know, and you expect to, you expect to win every rep , you expect to be, expect to be a great team, you expect to compete.

So that's the kind of guys we have in our locker room, so.

Um, and I think we could have even competed better, so we got lots to improve on.

And a set plan for playing time for Fernando already, but did his time at the joint practice today with the ones impact how much he plays?

If so, on Thursday?

It does not.

No, he's, he's going to get lots of reps this preseason.

He needs every one of them.

The Fernando throw, to Brock Bauer is a well schemed play.

He got the necessary time against the Houston Texans defense.

As a coach, do you sometimes need that little, not reassurance necessarily, but OK, that's, that's what we want to see right there.

Those are the type of things that we're looking for.

Yeah, you know, a team like, like Houston, they do a great job of making you check the ball down and tackling you and forcing turnovers, so it's hard to get the ball down the field on them.

But, uh, if it's just one play you're talking about after practice, then that's probably a concern.

You need more.
