All right, we are gonna talk about the pitching right now.
Let's go.
So here we go, because that is what's hot, presented by Service Champions.
As I mentioned, the lefty Robbie Ray, zero earned runs, technically one run on the board, but through eight innings, gave up four hits, just one walk, two punch outs, and through his last three starts, he has been dealing.
Sergio, what'd you see today from the southpaw?
Oh, I saw him continue to emphasize the fact that he was not gonna get in, in any, in any predictable rhythm and, and throw with his pitches.
and he was throwing, he was mixing them up.
He kept ba- it kept them off balance all game for his eight innings, the bad contacts, the, the ground balls, the weak fly balls.
He just put up a masterful performance today.
And then look at these last three appearances.
Again, he came in relief against the Braves during a rainout situation back in Atlanta a little over a week ago, but then his last start against the A's, again, eight clean innings, allowing just two hits.
He did walk four, but it never caught up with him.
Six K's in that one.
what's been different mechanically, before we get to our Romo Rewind in just a moment?
I think the fact that he's healthy and he's strong, and he's able to repeat his mechanics right now.
He's got solid rhythm, and therefore, with that solid rhythm, he's able to control his primary pitches- Mm-hmm which would be the f- the four-seam fastball and the slider.
But today, which was extremely impressive, is that against the righties, he went away from the four-seam fastball.
He only threw f- six four-seam fastballs in his eight innings today, which is the season low.
His sinker's usage was through the roof against both righties and lefties, but righties, the sinker/changeup combination.
The lefties, they saw a heavy dose of sliders and the sinker ball as well.
He just was really masterful today.
The way he went about it, he attacked, he was aggressive.
He didn't fall behind hardly in any counts.
He didn't issue any passes.
So you look at the way he pitched today - well, he did actually issue just one walk - but you look at the way he pitched today- Sorry he was extremely aggressive in the zone, and he used, l- I mean, four pitches to start off the different at bats, from the sinker to the changeup, the slider, the curveball.
It was just amazing to watch him pitch.
He didn't need the punch out today, because he got so many weak ground balls- Mm-hmm and so many weak fly balls.
