San Francisco Giants: Hayden Birdsong Struggles, Harrison Bader Shines

So for the San Francisco Giants, today was their opening day for spring training.
and, you know, ultimately, you know, there was a few, you know, takeaways from this, you know, spring training start.
first off, you know, taking a look at Hayden Birdsong, ultimately, you know, he would really struggle in this start, giving up five runs, including a grand slam, and only recording one out before he was pulled in the first inning.
but, you know, really what, you know, you're talking about here is, you know, not necessarily the stats, you know, per se, just because, you know, these, these stats necessarily don't really mean anything in spring training, as they don't, you know, transition over to the regular season.
but necessarily just, you know, looking at, you know, the outlook of the Giants' rotation.
Obviously, you know, Ha- Hayden Birdsong is, you know, in the mix for, that fifth starter spot.
Obviously, you know, the Giants already have an, a number of pitchers, in the rotation.
but certainly, you know, just taking a look, obviously, you know, they have Logan Webb, Robbie Ray, Adrian Houser, and Tyler Maile.
but, you know, the other arm, you know, that's necessar-- that's being looked at is Landon Roop.
and you know, what, what this means for, you know, a guy like Birdsong to be struggling, necessarily just has to do with the trust in the front office and, you know, manager Tony Vitello.
obviously, you know, Vitello's, you know, new to the Giants organization, so, you know, having, you know, arms that he can trust, you know, going into this season, is going to be very important.
but, you know, besides that fact, you know, there was some other notable news, especially for, you know, newly acquired, outfielder Harrison Bader.
He would end up, you know, having a nice day today.
he would go one for three with a double and two RBIs.
and, you know, this is going to be very important for, you know, a guy like Bader.
obviously, last year, he's coming off, you know, his best offensive season.
and, you know, with the new team and the Giants, you know, obviously he's trying to continue that trend of, you know, just being a reliable offensive bat in this Giants order.
some other news is, you know, you know, looking at, you know, Bryce Eldridge, obviously, you know, he is the number one prospect in this Giants organization.
and, you know, he honestly has a very good chance at cracking the opening day roster.
and, you know, just having, you know, that consistency and, you know, just sort of, you know, making it hard for the Giants organization to sort of, you know, keep him off that roster, is going to be very important.
You know, definitely one of the more interesting storylines is to see, whether or not he cracks the opening day roster.
and, you know, just looking at, you know, some other performances, Gilio Ramos, you know, got the start, today out in the outfield, and, you know, he, he brought in a knock.
but yeah, I mean, it's the first day of spring training, and obviously, you know, there's going to be a lot of eyes looking in on the organization.
Certainly, you know, looking at the performance of, you know, people in the rotation, and, you know, other factors.
but, you know, Tony Vitello is, you know, a very good manager.
Obviously, you know, the Giants are, you know, kind of in a very weird position.
Obviously, they don't know how that's going to necessarily, you know, work out in terms of, you know, managerial style, you know, sort of getting used to everything.
but certainly, you know, a very interesting outlook in the Giants', you know, training camp right now.
