Scheffler: FedExCup a 'nice way to finish' year
Scottie Scheffler recalls his Round 4 comeback at the Tour Championship to win his second career FedExCup, calling his performance in the playoffs "a nice way to finish off the season."

Being able to come from behind, what were you most proud of from, what you were able to accomplish out there at East Lake?
Yeah, golf course, golf course changed a little bit today.
The pins were, were in some really tough spots, and we got a little bit of wind, which made things, you know, I think more challenging for a lot of the guys.
And, I was able to get off to a really good start, you know?
I made a nice par on one, great shot into two, and then, you know, a really nice putt there on four.
You know, I made mistakes I'd say on six and seven, but after that I, I played some really solid golf and, was able to, to finish the tournament off.
Scottie, to, to have fewer trophies, in a year that was not much different from the, from the previous really great seasons, does this week and this outcome, does it change your outlook at all?
And if so, how much and why?
I mean, I don't know if it changes my outlook as much as it'll change y'all's.
You know, I, I felt like my, my thought process going into the postseason this year was I felt like, you know, maybe I've underperformed in some of the postseasons in the past.
You know, I think of, you know, years like '22 and '23 where I had, you know, a lead at this tournament and wasn't able to win the FedEx Cup or a playoff event those years.
You know, to come in this year maybe, you know, not winning the tournaments that I could have won throughout the regular season, to come in and win two out of three playoff events is definitely, you know, a nice way to finish off the season.
Like I said, that was kind of my motto going into the, going into the playoffs, was, you know, maybe in years I've underperformed in the postseason and maybe this is the year where I'll perform better in the postseason than I have in the, in the regular season.
You kind of stumbled out of the gate a little bit and made things close right away.
Were you scoreboard-watching at all?
At, at what point did you know how back and forth it really was?
Well, the s- the start, was really challenging.
You know, one and two playing into the wind.
You know, number one is an extremely difficult starting hole, especially that pin location.
So for me to get out of there with a par felt like I got half a shot there.
And then to birdie the second hole, I felt like I got another full shot there.
So, I felt like I could, could move in pretty quickly if I got off to a good start today and, you know, that was the case.
You know, it, it's, it's more challenging not being in control of the tournament, and so to get off to a good start and then, those guys, like you said, getting off to a bit of a slow start really put me, put me right in the tournament early.
