Yeah, you know, I think it starts really just connecting with him on a personal level.
Get to know him, get to know kind of what his interests are, what makes him tick.
and then once you start to kind of, get to know a guy on a personal level, I think the football connection becomes pretty easy.
It's, it's been a great process with Jalen.
He's been a pl- pleasure to work with and, you know, really since I got the job.
But being able to connect with him on a personal level and then on a football level has been great.
How much of a learning process is it gonna be for Jalen?
'cause he's had a bunch of different coordinators, obviously, during his career.
Like, is this kind of starting over for him again, or wh- what's that like?
Yeah, you know, I, I think Jalen's been outstanding in the meetings and, you know, I think having gone through, you know, multiple coordinators and stuff, you can tell he's a really capable learner, and that's been really fun to work with on a daily basis.
you know, I think there's always gonna be some, some degree of connection and, and like I said, it's a blend of all the things, the things that he's really thrived in here and, and some of the new things we're bringing to the table.
But, it's been, it's been a great process to get to really build this thing from the ground up with him and with our staff and, you know, I think we're really being deliberate with the teaching and, and building this thing with a strong foundation 'cause it's constantly being built, it's constantly evolving.
We're always looking to how, how can we make this better?
So that process has, has been great so far.
What is your evaluation of Jalen's skill set and how it's going to lend itself to the scheme?
Yeah, Jalen's been awesome.
You know, I, I really think he, he, he can do anything we ask of him.
He's, he's accurate.
He's a great athlete.
he really attacks the fundamentals.
That's what's been really fun to watch these, these last two weeks of phase two.
he's always coming, wanting, wanting more things to work on, wanting more things r- regarding fundamentals, timing, understanding the scheme.
he's hungry for more, and that those are the guys that are really fun to work with.
In terms of skill set, though, he has great arm strength, great accuracy, obviously a tremendous athlete, and he really attacks, attacks the game.
He has a great process in the meetings.
He always asks really, really thought-provoking questions.
he's detailed and, and attacks his fundamentals.
You know, he's always a guy who stays after practice and is, is working on things.
That those are the, those are the guys you love to work with.
