Okay, we've got some shocking news for Stetson Bennett.

he's got some competition.

Ty Simpson drafted 13 to the Rams.

13.

This is gonna be the most divisive, talked about, draft selection of the n- night almost certainly.

The Rams, who are the Super Bowl favorites, who are a win now team who just traded for Trent McDuffie- Yeah who have Matthew Stafford coming off an MVP season, and they have taken a quarterback, Matthew.

Your quarterback.

Yeah.

Roll Tide.

Yeah, Roll Tide.

Yeah.

Roll Tide indeed with Ty Simpson.

You know, we talked about at the top of the show, how, like, I had a friend tell me there was no way the Rams were picking at 13.

They were either gonna trade up or trade down.

They do in fact pick at 'Cause they didn't like anyone in this range.

But, you know, listen, they pick Ty Simpson, who is clearly quarterback of the future.

There's no fantasy value this year, unless Matthew Stafford gets hurt.

Like, he's gonna sit and learn.

But I think if you are in a dynasty league, I was literally in a dynasty draft last week where Ty Simpson went in the first round, it's now looking like a great pick.

Because you think about Simpson, who has the skills.

There's, there's some flaws to his game, Lawrence- but getting to go and learn from Matthew Stafford, be in a Sean McVay offense.

He's gonna get to play with Puka Nacua for the next 10 years when s- when Stafford retires, whether it's next year or two year.

Like, he's gonna sit and learn.

Like, I think for the dynasty value of Ty Simpson, you couldn't have asked for a better landing spot if you don't need him this year.

Yeah, even just from a regular football standpoint, I don't, I don't think many thought Ty Simpson was gonna play this year regardless wherever he went, but now we know that for a fact when you're behind the MVP quarterback.

So, the thing with Ty Simpson is, like you said, in the dynasty it's like, hey, you take him when you get him and you just kinda sit and wait on it.

And I will say this to, like, I, I think the pick is crazy, first off.

I, I don't even think Ty Simpson was a first round talent.

However, w- like, when, when the Rams was trading away all those first round picks to get these players, we was like, "What are they doing?"

Then the Rams was just like, "F them picks.

F them picks."

They once traded away Jared Goff, who they literally went to the Super Bowl with.

Well, you know what?

They said, "We wanna actually win the Super Bowl."

That's what they did.

So, hey, up unt- I don't know w- who we are to even question McVay up until this point.

Well, well, listen, McVay and Les Snead, right?

Yeah.

'Cause to your point, Lawrence, Jay, they've made a lot of g- moves that at that moment you're like, "I'm not sure," and then at the- This is the most questionable and then it has But had, it's worked out.

This is a team that, that found Jared Verse, that found Puka Nacua.

They have, they have managed to- Yeah to your point, like, they have in years where you thought they were gonna rebuild, they have competed.

Yeah.

So- I think, I think what this speaks to- I don't know.

I think you have to trust the process a little bit here?

A little bit, but the proce- the issue is not so much this individual decision, it's this individual decision within the context of the others.

I understand.

Like, why go all in with Trent McDuffie, and trading, making that trade- Yeah and then drafting Ty Simpson who's not going to, you know, he's not gonna contribute to them winning the Super Bowl this year, right?

If Ty Simpson is playing quarterback, that's bad news 'cause that means Matthew Stafford got hurt.

Yeah.

I do think what this speaks to, though, is the fact that, and we forget about it because he ended up, winning MVP and was, you know, one or two plays away from making the Super Bowl, but, like, Matthew Stafford came into the year with a back issue- He did that it really thought like, "Oh, he's gonna miss the start of the season.

Are we gonna see Matthew Stafford play this year?"

And there were real concerns there.

And then obviously he overcame that and had a career season.

But, yeah, I think, I mean, to me this is even, this is different than, like, the Jordan Love, Aaron Rodgers thing, 'cause they took Jordan Love in, like, the mid to late 20s.

Yes.

To just pick 13- Yes on a quarterback.

They, they coulda had a player at It's like, all right, so you take the quarterback, like you said, he's not gonna help you.

You already have a good defensive line.

They coulda taken Ruben Bain- Yeah and that would've helped them more than the quarterback.

But hey, what they're saying is, "Our roster's good, so we could use our pick to get our quarterback of the future."

Yeah.

There will be a lot of debate about this pick on all the- Definitely NFL talk shows- Definitely I'm sure, including Pro Football Talk on Monday.

But what I will tell you is that from a dynasty perspective, Ty Simpson lands in an absolute awesome spot
