Carnell Tate is joining a growing list of Ohio State wide receivers to be early NFL draft picks.
Here's how his game will translate to the professional level.
Tate's a smooth route runner with very good hands.
He has a pro-ready frame at six foot two, one hundred and ninety-two pounds, and demonstrated the ability to be an elite contested catch receiver across his time at Ohio State.
Tate comes with concerns about his long speed as he ran a 4.53 second forty-yard dash at the 2026 NFL Combine.
Many will also question whether he's more of a number two type receiver for the NFL after playing across from Jeremiah Smith, who many regard as the top overall talent in the 2027 NFL Draft.
But those concerns won't outweigh Tate's steadiness and surehandedness, which should allow him to quickly blossom into a reliable NFL target.
