And from a stuff standpoint, it works.
Like, Kodai has run into trouble when it's the second time through, the third time through.
If he could just pitch one inning and just pepper you with a really hard fastball with the ghost fork off it, and then he can mix in the sweeper and the cutter like when he wants to, but he can largely just operate as a two-pitch guy.
And it may not be the optimal use of funds, but look, this is a guy that we were talking not very long ago about just DFA him.
It's not, it's not gonna work here.
Right.
It's done.
J- just eat the contract, and he's done.
So I think Kodai Sengoku deserves a bunch of credit for transitioning from the role that he had, where he was struggling so mightily, into a role that he's incredibly not comfortable and not used to doing, and thus far the results have been great.
And I think, as you said, if it equates to a seventh or eighth inning guy next year, that's fantastic.
If he pushes Devin Williams for the closer's job, that's even better
