Why 'time is of the essence' for Titans' Ward

Titans quarterback Cam Ward is expected to participate in June mini camp.
Of course, Cam Ward played the entire seventeen game season as a rookie, but in week eighteen he suffered a sprained right AC joint in, that's specifically his throwing shoulder, it's his right shoulder.
That was the last game of the year.
It did not end up requiring surgery, but he's been doing rehab throughout the off-season.
It's probably something that could have sidelined him multiple weeks had it not been in the very last game of the year.
I think the fact that he'll be ready for June mini camp, let alone training camp, which he should be fully ready for, is a really good sign.
Of course, it's a good sign for anyone to be healthy as the off-season program ramps up, but I think Ward in particular is going to need this time, get as many practice reps as possible because we know he just flat out struggled in a really bad situation, but he did struggle as a rookie, throwing just fifteen touchdowns, seven interceptions, gets just below thirty-two hundred passing yards, took a ton of sacks.
I think overall, like I said, bad situation.
He certainly did not make the best of it.
The Titans recognized this.
They wipe out the staff.
They bring in Robert Slott, head coach.
More importantly for Cam Ward, they bring in Brian Daboll as the offensive coordinator.
Daboll then brings a bunch of the guys with him.
He brings Wan'Dale Robinson and Daniel Bellinger from the Giants, both of whom profile as starting wide receivers or starting wide receivers and starting tight end on this team.
Even if they do end up adding more pass-catching talent via the draft, I think that's almost certain that they will, he's got a lot of reps to get in with a lot of new players in a new offense.
Time is of the essence here for Cam Ward, but I do think health is trending in the right direction as we head to the draft.
