Wolves will play exciting basketball with LaMelo
Dan Patrick discusses LaMelo Ball's fit with the Timberwolves after a reported trade from the Hornets, explaining why Minnesota will play an exciting brand of basketball by pairing Ball with Anthony Edwards.

Going back to LaMelo Ball, he, averaged 20 points.
He shot 40% from the floor, 37 from three-point range, seven assists.
And of course, the Hornets, a pleasant surprise at 44 and 38.
To me, this is a culture change.
You're, sending him to Minnesota.
Minnesota gets a point guard with Anthony Edwards.
You give up Naz Reid, who I think is a really good two-way player here.
But this feels like, you know, LaMelo Ball is fun.
And I always tell people, if you want to get a true opinion on a player, watch a game.
Because I can watch highlights and go, "Golly, LaMelo Ball is awesome."
And I saw that in high school.
I think it was his freshman year, and, you know, he's playing with his brothers.
And I remember coming in, and I'd seen a playoff game in California.
You came in all excited.
I said, "The best Ball brother is the freshman," and it turned out to be true.
But he did some wild stuff, you know, where he would take shots from half court.
Undisciplined, but really talented.
But you gotta watch a game.
'Cause then when you watch the game, then you see, is he there?
Does he disappear?
Does he just make a highlight or two?
And he does have a lot of talent.
He is fun to watch.
But this feels like this is Kon Knipple's team, and I think Na- Naz Reid is a wonderful addition for this team.

Yeah, it feels like since the beginning of c- his career when he won Rookie of the Year, and then I think he was an All-Star the following season, his, at least maybe popularity or people's awareness of LaMelo Ball has kind of steadily gone down.
Like, you didn't hear You didn't see him last year.
Well, he didn't, you know, do anything stupid.
I mean, he's, he's a He had a really good year.
you know, but health wise, he's only 24.
Like, this is when careers are just getting started.
But, you know, Charlotte had probably seen enough of what they wanna be.
they wanna be a, a really good team, not a team that has, you know, some highlights here.
And, you know, there's obviously a big difference in that.
