This is Josimar Dias, better known as Vozinha, the 40-year-old goalkeeper for the Cabo Verde men's national soccer team.
Cabo Verde has a population of five hundred and thirty thousand people, and yesterday they had to play the powerhouse, and arguably the World Cup favorites, in Spain, who has a population of over fifty million.
That's ninety-five times the size of Cabo Verde.
But that does not matter when you have Vozinha in net, 'cause he put the team on his back, they played to a draw verse Spain, and he was the man of the match, and now Vozinha's entire life has changed.
Before Vozinha carried his entire team verse Spain, he had a little over fifty thousand followers on Instagram.
Now, 24 hours later, he has 8.8 million followers and growing.
That's way more than the finals MVP and the King of New York in Jalen Brunson, and the international superstar in Victor Wembanyama.
That's more than two of the most popular players in the entire NFL in Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes.
And again, that's way more than two of the most popular players in baseball this generation in Aaron Judge and Mike Trout, who both have 2.2 million.
