Second Grade

This year, your second grader will embark on an exciting educational journey across various subjects. In Math, they'll strengthen their understanding of numbers up to 999, master addition and subtraction, and explore practical applications like telling time, measuring, and counting money. They'll also begin to analyze data through graphs and understand basic geometric concepts and patterns.

In Language Arts, your child will become a more confident reader, building phonics skills, improving fluency, and developing comprehension strategies. They'll explore different types of stories and learn to express themselves through various writing forms, all while refining their grammar and communication skills. Sciencewill encourage hands-on discovery and the application of scientific concepts to everyday life, connecting to technology, engineering, and math. In Social Studies, students will learn about responsible citizenship, American history, symbols, geography, and basic economic principles, fostering a well-rounded understanding of their world.
