I tried to make a post on Friday, but just as I finished writing, my computer died. So now I finally have some spare time again :)On Friday Nadu and I went to the Capital Ex, which is the big exhibition and fair that comes to Edmonton every year. I usually don't like it, with the big crowds and big mullets, but this year they have some really good bands playing.Friday it was Finger Eleven. It was the 3rd time I have seen them, but the first for Nadu. It was a pretty good show - they have kind of toned it down since I last saw them, but I guess they are a little older and a lot more popular, and that usually happens.

OK, I haven't written here in a few weeks. But I have an excuse. This month is our 1st year wedding anniversary, and I wanted to do something really cool. I happened to get a $2000 tax refund this year, so I had some money to play with. So...we went to Montreal for the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix! Nadu has always wanted to go to one, even when she lived in Okinawa. And since we've been together she has taught me about the rules and the drivers, and it has grown on me.We took a flight out of Edmonton at 1:00 AM since it was the cheapest flight I could find, and it got us in Montreal at 7:30, time enough to catch the first practice session at the race track. Unfortunately, somebody on the plane had a medical emergency and we had to stop in Winnipeg. We got into Montreal at around 9:00.We first went to the Bed & Breakfast to drop off our luggage. Nadu had written down directions before we went, so it was easy to find :)Le Gite B&BThen we went directly to the race track. Getting our tickets was quite the ordeal. I ordered them online, but the company did not receive them on time, so we were supposed to pick them up at the track. Made me a little nervous! We did end up getting the tickets, to my huge relief. Our seats were pretty good, right at the top of the grandstand so we could see lots of the track..It was pretty amazing to see how fast the cars go! But this was nothing compared to the actual race 2 days later! That evening we met up with Nadu's cousin. We went for dinner at 'The Pistol'. The poutine there was pretty good :DThe next day (Saturday) we booked it to our next Bed and Breakfast, since 'Le Gite' was full for the other nights. This place was also an excellent place to stay.Repos & MannaThen we hopped on the Metro to the race track for day 2. Our favorite team, McLaren Mercedes-Benz finished 1-2 that day That evening we met up with our friend from college and her boyfriend. We went downtown to Crecent Street (I think that's it's name). There were hundreds of thousands of people there, like nothing I've ever seen! There were Ferraris and imported Hondas lining the roads, and a live band playing on a stage in the middle of a street. We stopped in at a little pub where we had a few pitchers of beer, and made our way back to the bed & breakfast at around 3:00 AM.So onto day 3 (Sunday). We got to the track as early as we could which was like 10:00 At 11:00 they had the parade, where all the drivers go around the track on a classic car waving at the fans. Then the race began. Oh my God, they're so FAST! I know it sounds dumb, but you really cannot imagine how fast they are unless you are up close. And of course, so LOUD! That might have been a good part of being so high up in the crowd, it was not quite as loud.In the end, our favorite driver from our favorite team won (Lewis Hamilton). After that, we had about a full day left to go around Montreal. That evening we went to Mount Royal, where you get a view from high up above the city. Very cool.On Monday we hung out with our friend from college, and went to the Old Port part of the city. Our last stop was at the Notre Dame Cathedral. All in all, an amazing trip. It was worth every penny we spent (that's a LOT of pennies!)

OK, I have no idea if that's anywhere close to correct :P At least I'm trying...Strange Brew was on the 'ole CBC last night. Afterwards there was a special about how popular the movie was, which I had no idea. I guess it was really big in the States, and played a big part in how Americans view us Canadians. Thanks to the movie, many Americans believe that we spend much of our time drinking beer and farting, while wearing our ear muffs or plaid shirts, calling each other 'Hosers'.I am appalled with this view.I have never in my life worn a plaid shirt! Unacceptable.

That title is the best I can do right now with my limited Japanese :pToday was the first day in a long time that I saw Edmonton was hotter than Naha. 6:00PM it is 26 degrees here, a mere 25 degrees in Okinawa. Sounds cold there! (yes, I'm joking). Before I went out to start working, I did something stupid. I had Chinese food with nothing to drink. Salty, salty Chinese food. And I was working in an area where there are no stores to buy any water. I need to think ahead next time :p

Yesterday I got a call from my friend while I was driving at work. He asks if I can come out on Saturday to his house for a surprise birthday party for his girlfriend. A little bit of short notice, but of course Nadu and I go.We had not gone out for an night with any friends for a long long time here, so it was nice to get out. We went to play pool and do some bowling. Lots of fun.Nadu came close to beating me one time (110 to 112), but I won all four games. I feel like a champion :PThe night out ended up costing like $80, which almost gave me a heart attack! But it was fun, so I guess it was money well spent.

While Nadu was still in Okinawa, I decided to reinstall Windows on my desktop computer at home. It was acting a little weird as Windows does once in a while just to piss you off.So I spend an entire Saturday making sure I have everything backed up on an extra hard drive I had laying around - videos, documents, wedding stuff, Nadu's backup from her old laptop, etc, etc. It was about 30GB of data, so it took a while to make sure it was all transferred. Now two weeks later and my computer is running nicely again. I want to take a look at some pictures from a few years ago that are on my computer.Ummm...now...where are they...hmmm...DAMMIT!!!!!They're gone. I must have missed my pictures folder when I transferred everything. 5 years of pictures gone. College (when Nadu and I first met), my trip to the Dominican Republic, to the mountains, to Ottawa, everything.Thankfully we have copies of most of the best pictures, which we displayed at the weddings. But it sure sucks to lose all the others.Good thing I have a good memory :P Too bad it's long term, not short term.

There really isn't a whole lot to say about the last week I was in Okinawa. Every night was spent entertaining family members or friends, going to pubs drinking, having them over at her parent's house drinking, and then I think there was more drinking, and maybe a whole bunch of eating too.The one thing we did do that I wanted to since the last time I was in Okinawa was visit the World War 2 sites on the south side of the island. There are no pictures of our own here, because Nadu and I will not take any at war memorial sites. We first went to the former site of the Okinawa school for girls (can't remember the exact name). When the Americans invaded Okinawa to battle the Japanese, the girls at the school were converted to nurses to care for the wounded soldiers. Next we went to 平和祈念公園 (Okinawa Peace Memorial Park). This place is enormous. There are plaques listing the names of all the soldiers who lost their lives in the Battle of Okinawa - American, Japanese, and British.Inside there is a very large museum and informational site which goes into pretty good detail about the entire war as it pertains to Okinawa. As I always want to learn more about history, especially about Okinawan history, it was very good for me.I think it is one of the best sites in Okinawa, and I'm glad I went. Before I left Okinawa, I got an amazing gift from Nadu's parents. The week before I had bought them a dvd player, mainly because I wanted to watch some movies, but also because I'm such a great person :pAnyway, I guess this was my return gift, as they insist on doing there. The picture sucks, it's from my crappy camera in my phone:My very own shamisen! They told me I have to be able to play next time I go to Okinawa. So it's set - I'm next going to Okinawa in 2020 :P Maybe I'll be able to speak Japanese by then too.So, that's it. The plane ride home was the same as going to Okinawa, except that I almost missed my flight from Tokyo to Vancouver. Don't let anyone tell you that you can take the bus from Hadena to Narita airports, go through customs, go through security, and make your plane in 3 hours. It won't happen. I think I made it with 10 minutes to spare, only after cutting in line to get my boarding pass before they closed it off.Oh, and in the Customs line in Vancouver, some Chinese guy behind me had SARS or something, he was coughing up a lung all over everyone. Suprise suprise, I get the worst cold/memengitis/whatever I've had in years, whatever he gave me. Thanks buddy.

Wow, after that crazy reception, it was about time to get some rest. Nadu and I sped away from Naha for 2 days of relaxation. We went to the Renaissance Hotel Resort which is by Onna. We went there in 2004 as well, it is the most amazing hotel we've ever been to. It cost us about $300 for a night there, which was actually one of the cheaper times. I think it went up to $400 the next week :pThe main reason we go there is for the food. They have about 6 restaurants, which we have heard are all amazing. This time we opted for the Okinawan BBQ. There is a grill on your table and the server plops down a huge plate of meat and veggies for us to cook. It was awesome, made even awesomer (that is now a word) by the singer and shamisen player who came to each table to play. Nadu requested a song which they played. It was great. The next day we went to the Marianna Hotel which is close to the aquarium. This was a suprising place - the hallways looked like we were in a hospital or a mental institution. We braced for the worst as we unlocked our hotel room - and it was really quite large and had a great view of the ocean. Before we had actually gone to the hotel, we went to my holy grail (in Okinawa) - the Orion Beer Brewery. Yay, free beer after the tour! I asked Nadu if we could go the next day, and every day thereafter. Her response was not favorable :pThat evening I wanted to go to a pub where they advertised a live band with shamisen and drums. We were a little lost, but we thought we found the place and sat down. After ordering, Nadu looks at me and say 'umm..this doesn't look like the right place'. Sure enough, no live band. But the food was really quite good, so we stayed a bit and ate.We drove about 100 meters to the place we were actually trying to go to :P The live band started just after we go there. It was really fun, they started talking to Nadu, who informed them that she was Uchinanchu (Okinawan) which they were quite excited about. I guess that area is just full of tourists from mainland Japan, so an Okinawan is a sight. Near then end of their set, Nadu realized her mistake as they insisted that she show everyone at the pub how to dance Okinawan style! So everyone got on the floor by the stage and attemped to dance. Amazingly, some people even managed to stay standing after all the Orion beer consumed. Impressive! The next day we drove home, but not straight back to Naha. I wanted to take the grand tour of Okinawa island, so we kept going north to the very northern point, Cape Hedo. Then we went back south, stopping at a restaurant by Nago. This was something I was looking forward to for months - the restaurant served DOLPHIN. I ordered a dolphin steak, which came sizziling on a hot plate. If you have never had dolphin, allow me to describe it. Bad. Very bad. It looked like beef, but it did not taste like beef. The smell was very strong, therefore it had to be cooked in mounds of garlic to mask the smell. And the meat was very tough. The taste is indescribable. Try it! :D

This is coming a little later than I wanted...still been fighting off this cold.So on the day of the reception, Nadu went to get her massive shambles of hair done up to look all nice. It's why she kept it so long for so long, for this one day. It ended up looking really good, so I guess it was worth the sleepless nights of her hair up my nose :PI had a little surprise for her while she was gone. I told her and her parents that I was going to go to the local Jusco to shop for gifts for my family, since I had nothing to do. But really, I took the monorail across the city to Kokusai-dori (International Street) where there was a bookstore. A few days before, Nadu saw her favorite series of comics - 13 of them - but didn't buy them because they were too expensive. So yeah, I got em for her. I know, aren't I the nicest?Anyway, we got to the hotel at around 5:00, just in time to have the photographers start harrassing us. It was already time to take pictures around the hotel. The head photographer helped me with my tie - I still have no clue how to put on one of those damned things. Before you know it, we were in front of the reception hall greeting out guests. So many new people to meet, and so many more that I wasn't sure if I had met them or not. It was tough - Hajimemashite or not? I had about 2 seconds per person to make this important decision. I stuck with Konnbanwa for most people, just in case I had met them before :)First up was Nadu's dad, who was the MC for the night. He did an awesome job, at least as far as I could tell. I couldn't understand a damn word he said. Usually I can pick up at least the just of what a person is saying when speaking Japanese, but that night I was just too tired to listen. Sorry Big Z.The first thing was a traditional Okinawan dance performed by Nadu's mom, dad, aunt, and uncle. They had been practicing for well over a month, and I thought they did really well. Those dances are so precise, I can't imagine doing it myself. It was really awesome!During the first part of the meal I played the Keynote I made of the Kimono photos. Everyone seemed very confused and suprised to see me at the controls of my Precious (my Macbook Pro laptop). I guess in Japan the hotel staff ALWAYS handle that stuff. Sorry, but Frank rule #1 - ONLY FRANK OR TRUSTED ASSOCIATES TOUCH THE MACBOOK. Anyway, I guess the guests thought it was pretty cool.I didn't get to eat much of anything as I was busy either handling the laptop or taking pictures with Nadu with all the guests. I think the menu went something like this:1. Some fish with asparagus? 2. Some beef with asparagus?3. A soup..no idea what kind.4. Wedding cake - oh wait, we didn't eat any! Those who know me know I love to eat. The wedding cake thing really chapped my ass. We did the normal cutting of the cake, which we go free of charge as we skipped a bunch of the garbage that normally accompanies Japanese weddings - Candle ceremony, bride wearing 3 dresses, etc. So right after we cut it, guests could come grab some. But could we? Hell no, we had to take more pictures. Dammit, I want cake! So, at the end of the night, I see half the cake left. Score, right? I'm sure we can take that home. WRONG. They throw it away. I'm sorry, but what the hell is wrong with this picture? Arrgg....Ok, sorry about that. Food wastage makes me angry. Next up were our speeches. It was the same as our wedding in Edmonton - Nadu has the emotional speech that tugs at your heartstrings, I have the one that lightens the mood, as I cannot be serious. I was required to get up there with Nadu as she was letting the water works loose.Next up were aisa drummers. They were placed all throughout the room, and they kind of snuck up on us while we were taking pictures. I sit down and all of a sudden BAM!BAM!BAM! It was pretty awesome, probably my favorite part of the night. Then was my mega-super-amazing-gigantic-godzilla-sized suprise. I got my speech out, with Nadu beside to me translate. So my first line is 'Konnbanwa honjistuwa goshuseki itadeki arigatougozaimasu'. The crowd is stunned. They cheer. They appreciate that my first line is in Japanese.I follow up with more Japanese, and more. Holy crap, they realize I'm doing the whole thing in Japanese. Yep, I wrote my speech in English, Nadu the Translator turned it into Japanese, and I practiced that for about 2 months. It was fun to do, even though it took me forever to stumble through the more difficult parts.I must thank Nadu for helping me with that. When I write something, I can write forever. My speech in English probably sounded something like this - 'Blah blah blah...infinity'. It was long. Nadu did a great job of trimming it down to something I could finish before everyone fell asleep. So the night was a success - maybe a bit too much. In the receiving line when our guests were leaving, a bunch of people were blabbing to me in Japanese. Sorry, I still don't speak the damned language! But they sure believed I did thanks by my speech. Whoops. Smile and nod.

Well, I'm feeling a little better today. I only worked for about 4 hours today, so I've been resting for most of the day. That means I can start my Okinawa 'delayed diary'.Day 1The plane trip was actually pretty good. My first flight was from Edmonton to Vancouver on Air Canada. Every seat had a mini tv, so I just watched History Television all the way there.Vancouver - Tokyo was about 9 hours I believe, on Japan Airlines. As always, JAL was great, decent food, excellent service. Again, mini tv's on the flight, I watched a couple of movies and read the beginning of War and Peace (I know, doesn't that make me sound learned?). In Tokyo I had the rare privilege of using Narita for the international and domestic flight, not having to take the bus through Tokyo to Haneda. Very nice.Tokyo - Okinawa was about 2.5 hours on JAL, no mini tv's :( Very boring flight. At Naha airport Nadu was there to pick me up. Straight to her parent's house and off to sleep for me.Day 2Off to the hotel to talk to the wedding planner for the reception. We really didn't need one as our reception was very, very simple, but they insisted. Talked about some small things, met the photographers, that's about it.Days 3 - 6These days were mostly more planning for the reception. On one day we went to European Sweet, a store where you can make a flower bouquet made from dried flowers. It was actually pretty fun, Nadu made one for her mom, I made one for her grandmother.I need to find the link for their website...Another day we went for our photographs in Okinawan kimonos. I do believe the funniest thing you could see is a tall white guy in a kimono. Don't believe me?Yikes!!During these 5 or so days, I realized (must to Nadu's...umm...dismay) that I had forgotten one of the 3 videos that we were going to show at the reception. It's a dvd of our wedding ceremony in Edmonton. I tried to download it from my friend who helped make it for all those days, but it wouldn't transfer properly.Luckily for me, we made a keynote presentation (Apple's answer to Microsoft's Powerpoint) of the day we put on the kimonos. No damage done :)Next up is the reception. A music mishap, confused hotel staff, and my great surprise.

Yes, it is finally time for an entry here! Why, oh why, do you ask, did I not write here for 2+ months? For the answer, you must look at my past postings. On November 22, I said we were thinking of going to Vancouver for New Year's. In mid-2006, I talked about heading to Okinawa in December 2006. Before that, thinking of taking a trip across Canada.Do you see a relation here? None of them happened!! I think posting my vacation wishes is bad luck here. So, just to be extra careful, for the last 2 months I had confirmed my vacation, but there was no way I was going to risk it by posting that information here. Well, now that it is over, I can say proudly 'I went to Okinawa'!!! Finally, after two years of waiting for Nadu's PR card, it came this year and we could go.Since I dared not post while I was there, I'll post here just as if I were in Okinawa now, but in clusters of a few days at a time, whatever I feel like writing.Enjoy :)By the way, today is Easter Monday and I'm working :( I think all of our customers think nobody is here, I'm sitting at my computer listening to Audioslave and..well...typing this. Productivity at it's best!

Well, we're getting most things done for the reception in Okinawa. Today we made the guest names to let them know which table to sit at. We are using some blank cards we got at Michael's, so I had to make a template the exact size as the cards. And, unfortunately, I was forced to use Microsoft Word for this as my Mac laptop's power adapter is toast. Oh God, there is no Hell like using Microsoft after using a Mac for a few months. But I did get it done, hopefull when they're printed everything is line up properly.I still need to get my speach done, I think I need like 2 more paragraphs. That will probably take me a few weeks. Not because it's difficult or time consuming. I was going to do it today, but this afternoon there was an Oilers game, then this evening a Senators game to watch. Then I decided to do the name cards instead. So today is shot. So tomorrow? No way, SUPERBOWL! I'm having a Superbowl party here, so tomorrow is shot too. Then it's back to work for another week. There are only 4 weekends to get this done before Nadu leaves, and I need it done at least a week early so she can translate my speach. So when will it be done? Ehhh...maybe in 2 weeks and 6 days? That should cut it close enough...

Yes, this is the understatment of the year...but really, in what way does Mac anything not trump Microsoft anything? For our wedding reception in Okinawa, among ten thousand other things, we need a slideshow showcasing pictures from our childhoods as well as since we have been together. When Nadu first told me this, my first reaction was 'Oh God, no. Another shitty Powerpoint presentation to create". I've probably made about 20 different ones for school, and never has it been fun to create or fun to watch. Ah, but thankfully, this is the era of Mac OS X and my company issued MacBook Pro. I find that my MacBook comes with Keynote, which is similar to Powerpoint except that it generally does not suck. Cool!So I've been playing with it all night, and have created some cool slides. Pictures are appearing, disappearing, and moving in a manner that I want. It's fun stuff :)On a related note, a few weeks or months ago (can't remember), we created a shortened video of our wedding using Apple's iDVD. My God, I almost had an attack of pure joy. We took the video from our wedding ceremony and cut out some of the less exciting parts to create a 15 minute video. Then we created this nifty menu that rotates select pictures, along with a small screen on the bottom left that shows short clips of all 5 pairs walking down the aisle. It's like picture-in-picture on a tv. It looks absolutely awesome.

After almost a month of snow and -25 degree weather, this week it is around +1. It's better when I'm working on a roof when it's this nice out, but it sure gets wet. My boots feel like they weight 20 pounds :p But I guess I can't complain, it's better than working in -40 like 2 weeks ago!In other news, Alberta has a new Premier. King Ralph is finally gone. No longer will we hear about his crazy antics - yelling at homeless people to get a job, smoking in his office when an indoor smoking ban is in effect, or implying that Belinda Stronach 'gets around' (a personal favorite of mine). Steady Eddie Ed Stelmach looks like a pretty boring guy. Can I rely on this guy to provide me with 'Ed Bucks' when the cash is flowing in? Not likely. How about a fun quote once in a while, without a worry about who he insults? Probably not. This week Alberta just got a lot more boring :PRalph Klein - gonzoEd Stelmach - who cares?

Today I woke up at 7:20AM to go to work. That's pretty early for me, for the last 2 years I've been getting up at 9:00, but since there's only about 8 hours of sunlight in the winter here, I need to get up when the sun does.Anyway, today I couldn't really move, was in a cold sweat and just overall really sick. Therefore, I took my first sick day in 3 years. It was a good run while it lasted. To go along with that, I have had this crazy pain in my mouth for about 4 days. It's not a toothache, but a swollen gum that makes eating really difficult. Usually I just wait something like this out, but it's just getting annoying. So I'm going to the dentist for the first time in 3 years on Thursday. Hope it doesn't cost too much :PSo, overall a fun day. Tomorrow Nadu and I are going to the Oilers game against Calgary. Should be much better.

Nadu and I saw the movie Borat last weekend. We were bored at West Edmonton Mall and thought why not? Wow. Funniest movie in years. I felt so bad after it that I laughed at everything, but hey, who cares? If you want to just laugh your butt off, watch this movie. Forget about being politically correct for an hour and a half. It's worth it!I love U.S. and A.

When I first went to Okinawa with Nadu 2 years ago, I remember how difficult it was to communicate with her family, since I don't speak any Japanese beside my 10 word vocabulary. I vowed that I would learn at least some basic conversational Japanese for my next visit. Everybody there is really great about the language barrier, and they dig up what English they know to help me out. But I think I really should be speaking Japanese there, after all, it is their country, not mine :PSo, here I am, 2 months away from that 'next visit'. I've had 2 long years to learn at the very least, some basics. Not problem, all it takes is a day or 2 a week of work. Easy.Whoops.I've learned maybe another...50 words. Yeah, that's it. And that's being optimistic. I can't think off the top of my head 20 Japanese words that I know now that I wouldn't have known 2 years ago. But I must have figured out something by accident in that time, maybe listening to Nadu speak to her parents on the phone, or talking to her cousin here. When we go to Okinawa, we are having a wedding reception, for all of her family who could not make it to Canada for the wedding here. I am determined to do my speach in Japanese. Memorized. No paper. No flash cards. No key words burned into my retinas. All of a sudden, two months does not seem very long! So, I am going to try to learn as much Japanese vocabulary as I can before I go. Any words at all, useful or not. I figure knowing the Japanese term for monkey is better than not knowing anything at all. By the way, saru (さる) was one of the first Japanese words I learned, so that was just an example. If I have time, I will list all the new words I learn here. Here is the first installment, the words I learned today and within the last month or so.Sorry - GomenSunday - NichiyoubiMonday - GetsuyoubiTuesday - KayoubiWednesday - SuiyoubiThursday - MokuyoubiFriday - KinyoubiSaturday - DoyoubiPlease (polite) - Onagai shimasuHandshake command to a dog - Otte (what a pointless thing to learn!)

Today I sat down with the Good Book (the Edmonton Sun) and read the Scriptures from the sports section:'And the rivers of Edmonton turned Red, and it was as blood. Or worse. The Stampeders in town.''And footballs rained from the Heavens, and fell into Jason Tucker's hands, and it was as Maciocia prophesized.'Yes, the Edmontonn Eskimos finally won a game. We were at the game, Nadu and I brought our host kid and his girlfriend. Our host kid looked to be a little meek about showing his enthusiasm as I do (yelling, booing, cheering, etc) but his girlfriend was right in it :P It was lots of fun, and now I feel much better. No more pouting about this crappy team...at least for this week.

Last weekend was the annual Heritage Festival in Edmonton. Nadu and I have gone every year since we moved here. It features about 70 countries with their food and culture. The food part is what brings us there. We wanted to try a bunch of food that we've never had before. It's a little difficult, since we've been there the last 2 years already...and I can't handle spicy food (ie. curry), so countries like India and Pakistan are out.But we did have some new things to try:Turkey - Cheese Pie & Spinich PieLaos - Mango Rice (just mango on top of coconut flavored rice)Afghanistan - something. Green Onions & Potato in a PitaKenya - Rice & Stewed GoatUganda - Samosa & PlantainThere were some more, like Beef Stew from Ireland and a Fruit Smoothie from Polynisia. The food ranged in price from about $1 to around $5. It was all very worth it :)Oh, and I had to include this. The night before the festival we were watching tv, and I noticed some crappy old movie on CBC. Huh? It's in Japanese? And old. It's....Godzilla vs. Monster Zero! Cool :) It was soooo cheezy, but I couldn't stop watching. Finally after about half an hour Nadu made me change the channel. But she did take one picture:"Please enter the cylinder."

It's been a long few weeks, mainly because we welcomed a new member to Casa-Frank 'n Nadu:We picked up Nibbler down by Calgary. She's 3 months old, and is suprisingly well behaved. From the very first night with us, she didn't bark or howl at night, just slept. But of course, not all can be perfect. She likes to wake up at the crack of dawn (5AM) to play with us. She'll come up beside me in my bed and start biting my fingers. Hard to sleep through that :pWe've been trying to train her not to pee all over the carpet...it's getting better, but still a long way till we don't have to worry about it.Now I must cut this entry short, the Eskimos are getting killed by BC, and I'm about ready to smash something. Must...control...temper...

Now THAT was a good World Cup final! Because it was two evenly matched teams giving it their all? Hell no! The first 115 minutes of that game were brutal. I was half asleep, and it was on at 1:30PM.No, when the world was ready to let this game go down in history as a bore-fest, the French hero Zinedine Zidane takes it upon himself to rescue this game from the record books of brutality.I do believe I could read the conversation between Zidane and Materazzi:Materazzi: Hey, Big Z, come-a here, will-a you?Zidane: Let go of me, you fiend. How dare you impede the progress of the mighty Zidane!Materazzi: Hey now, I only want-a to smell this jersey of a-yours-a. (grabs jersey). It's soft as a freshly tossed pizza-pie!Zidane: Sacre blue! My mother washed this jersey, and my sister dried it. You insult them with your words. Take this (head butt to chest).Pretty amazing how I could read their lips, since they were speaking in French and Italian, both of which I am fluent in!You have to admit, that head butt was the coolest part of the World Cup. I think they should allow one such act per team, just to spice things up. Nothing that might seriously injure a player, just something to let them know you mean business. Head butt to the chest, swift kick in the ass, a little Larry-Curly-Moe action with a slap to the face. I don't see a problem with it.Zidine say he sorry. Zidine say he no do again. This true because Zidine no play soccer anymore anyway.

Hope everyone had a great Canada Day. Nadu and I enjoyed our first weekend of rest in about 2 months. My buddies went camping about 45 minutes out of town for some 'relaxing time' ie. drinking till we don't feel feelings no more. But I declined to get some downtime here.We didn't do much today...the usual rounds around town buying some stuff...paint for the fence, a lamp to light the living room. However, we did watch one world cup game - France vs. Brazil. Now, there is no team I despise more than Brazil. I know, everyone seems to love these guys, and I have no idea why. They're all so arrogant, Ronaldo still looks like a dork, even after getting rid of the forehead goatee...but of course, them beating Germany in the 2002 finals has no bearing on my hatred of them, no way!So I thoughoughly enjoyed watching France dispose of the Brazillians like yesterday's used kleenex. Good times. I also enjoyed seeing England (just below Brazil in the arrogance factor) being outsted by Portugal. Good Riddance. And Beckham goes out with his little injury...boo hoo, poor David. I really feel for Posh. Pansy. And finally, Wayne Rooney getting the boot. Another big crybaby. Outta here! Now, I know I have probably offended 50% of you out there since England and more importantly, Beckham, has a large following. Well, how about more fuel to the fire?On Friday at the office, we were all around the tv watching the games. The owner of my company along with his kid were there, and they're Italians. Die hard fans. So who do I cheer for? GO UKRAINE!! I was searching everywhere close by to find some perogies to eat in front of them. That would have been fun. But, Italy did destroy them 3-0. At least that should set up a ton of fun Tuesday, when they meet...GERMANY. Yes, that's my team, the ones everyone loves to hate. At least that's how it is around here. Germany beat Argentina in a shootout, setting up this epic matchup. When I go back to work on tuesday, you can bet my lunch will be a nich big Weiswurst with saurekraut :DAnd lastly, here's a funny article relating to the game Tuesday. Parasites indeed!! Der Spiegel gets it right!

Wow, so much to talk about, so little motivation. But I feel I should sum up the last 3 weeks to my adoring fans who frequent this website (do I hear crickets?)Alright, lets start with, oh, I dont know, how about the new ring on my finger? Yes, the wedding has come and gone. Never again do I want to experience another week as hectic as that one. The strange thing was that I was not nervous at all before the big day. Was able to get a decent 5 hour sleep after I finished writing my speech. I think the best way to describe that day is with a timeline:June 16 - The day before. Wake up at 8AM (early for us), go to the hotel to drop off most of the things we needed. From there, off the to gardens for the ceremony rehersal (25 minute drive). All goes well there, back to the city to pick up the flowers and DJ equiptment (30 minute drive each way), then over to St. Albert to drop off some flowers for the cake (20 minutes). I think we used about half a tank of gas just driving around town. That evening we had our relatives and wedding party over to our place for a get together. Was nice enough, everyone left around 10:00...that's when 2 of our friends came over a wee bit late to visit. That brought it to around midnight, when we had to try to write our speeches. Off to bed at 2:30am.June 17: The day has arrived. All 5 of my groomsmen show up on time at my place to get into their tuxedos. We hop into the limo about 90 minutes before the show starts. We are at the garden for an hour, then guests start showing up...11:00 rolls around, still no bride or bridal party. Hmm...11:30 and they show up. Guess she didn't grab the next flight to Okinawa after all :DCeremony goes off very well, only a few verbal faux pas noted. We then proceed to the most painful part of all - photos! Pictures of all the guests, the parents, grandparents, bridal party, me and Nadu, me and my buddies, Nadu and her friends, Nadu with a tree - Aaaaaaaaa, so hungry!!!! You know it's time to go when I see a bird fly by and wonder how it would taste.Next stop driving back into Edmonton is the lunch. Lets look for a nice place to eat on this special...oh screw that, it's A&W time! I footed the $50+ bill there since I'm such I nice groom - and proceed to forget to buy Nadu anything. Whoops. Luckily one of her bridesmaids had a rice ball in her purse. Now that's prudent planning!Next up it...what? MORE PICTURES? I think the patrons of the limo are about to revolt, the results of which would make the Whyte Ave riot look like a day at the county fair. But we did manage to talk them into it, as we had the coolest spot ever - Rexall Place 2 hours before game 6 of the Finals! We also took some pictures at the legislature, where I proposed to Nadu. Awwww.Finally, on to the hotel. Ah, but not time to relax yet, of course. We all jump out of the limo and into the hotel, and start setting the room up. Centerpieces, DJ equiptment, guestbook, etc, etc, etc. Finally we finish, and head up to our room for a second of rest. What? Clock says it's 5:00? Dammit, gotta head back down, the show is about to start. We get down there, and it turns out the clocks in the rooms are all a half hour ahead. I tried to hold back my tears...So we start, and - here's what makes this the coolest wedding ever - we turn on the hockey game. So during supper everyone's eyes are not focused on us, but on the TV. Now THAT'S how you relieve the pressure.I thought it was funny how after people were done their meals, they started gravitating towards the tv in the front, trying to get a closer spot. Some people even were bringing their plates with them, eating standing up! And of course, the Oilers won 4-0 to get the evening off properly :D:DDuring the intermissions were the speeches by my dad, Nadu's dad, and our friends. Not too many embarassing stories about me from my buddies, since incriminating me in turn incriminates them. My dad gave me the gift of the night, a clock and pen holder with the label from our old NEC computer. The AntiNEC was quite moved.Nadu and I did our speeches. She was first, and I knew it would be an emotional one. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. I saw tears coming from people whom I didn't think had tear ducts. It was very nice.So next I come up. Well, I'm not the emotional type as most of you know. I managed to lighten the mood with my words. I thought it went over well. The rest of the night was filled with dancing and drinking and eating and talking and drinking, and for most of my buddies, a bunch of drinking. Ah, the Jagermeister flowed freely that night! So, that's the story. A fantastic wedding that went almost too smoothly. But, that's what you get when this guy's in charge of planning. Am I right? Yeah, that's right. While all did go well, a full 50% of credit goes toward Nadu, who kicked my ass into gear on more than one occasion. And she found these wicked rings from Okinawa. Yesterday I almost lost it at the Godsmack concert...I guess it takes some getting used to :P

Bring the cup home, Gator!Yes, the Oilers are in the NHL finals next week. This will be the first time I have seen this...they were there in 1990 last, but I was only 6 years old at the time :)The schedule was released yesterday, and wouldn't you know it? Game 6 will be on during our wedding. Just wonderful. I guess we will be having a wedding reception/Oilers party. Who knows, it might be really cool :)

Here is my first post in the month of May. It's been an eventful month, to say the least.First off, we are fully settled into our new place. It took a solid 2 weeks to unpack most of the stuff, but it's all done. Here is a pic of the front. The left side of it is ours.So how 'bout them Oilers, eh? Last night they won, putting them up 3-2 in their Western Conference semi-final series vs. San Jose. I do not believe I had ever seen the Oilers play this well, in the 15 or so years I've been watching them. It's been great fun :)The story of the Oilers playoffs for me was when Ryan Smyth took a puck to the face, knocking out 3 of his teeth. He gets right up, skates to the locker room - and comes out the next period! He's got his mouth wired shut, so he's breathing through his nose. And all he does it make an amazing play to assist on the game winning goal in the 3rd overtime period. On Saturday we finally had our house warming party. It got moved from last week as I found out my brother was coming up this week and wanted him there too.I picked up a 59L keg of Alexander Keith's ($220, ouch!) for everyone to dig into. It was tons of fun, everyone was doing kegstand after kegstand. My brother did one for a full 24 seconds, which seemed unbeatable, until one of my friends psyched himself up for half an hour to complete a 32-second record-breaker. Suffice to say, he looked pretty ill after that :)My BabyBy the way, in case you need it:Kegstand Definition - to grab the handles of the keg, be lifted upside down, and drink straight from the tap.

I don't want to talk about that debacle that they are calling a hockey game, but I guess I should, since it was Nadu's first NHL playoff game. I think she enjoyed it, she was chanting GO OILERS GO with everyone else, and made no complaints about having to stand for 3 hours (not that she would anyway), and made the faces of anger when the refs made bonehead calls against Edmonton. She was even pretty pissed after the game (Oilers lost, partly due to crappy reffing). So, not a bad experience, hopefully game 6 will be better, as it will be her 2nd playoff game :)Tonight we are moving all the rest of our stuff into our new house. I'll be pictures up tomorrow hopefully. There is no internet there until Monday, so we are keeping the computers at the apartment until then.

What a great playoffs this has turned out to be so far...and it's only 2 games in!Edmonton lost the first game in double over time. Nadu and I were at the pub watching the game with some of our friends. One of them happened to be my buddy from work who's bachelor party was due to begin at 7:00. The game would be over around 7:30, so no big deal, we'd be a little late. But then overtime happened, then double overtime...turns out we got there around 10:00. Whoops :POn Sunday was game 2. It started at 11:00AM here! I don't understand why Americans love their early afternoon games so much, but I won't rant about that right now. The Oilers won that game 4-2, tying up the series :)Before that game, during the National Anthems, the custom in Detroit is to throw an octopus on the ice. Why do they do it? Who knows. Anyway, there was an octopus on the ice, but also, some Oilers fans threw steaks on the ice. Alberta beef. That was pretty funny. I can imagine the beginning of game 3 tonight in Edmonton. How much beef is going to end up on the ice? Go Oil!!!The Beef Guy

Woo! Oilers are in the playoffs, and guess who's going to games? The Oilers had a presale for a limited number of tickets yesterday staring at 10:00.Nadu and I waited on our computers, and when 10:00 hit, we pounded the ticketmaster website. 10 minutes later, Nadu got lucky and score 2 tickets for game 4!!!Today, they had the sale to the general public. Again at 10:00, we pounded the website, and again, about 5 minutes later, Nadu got 2 more tickets for game 6! So we're going to 2 games this year :)I will probably bring Nadu to the first one, then my dad to the 2nd one if he can make it up here. This will be Nadu's first playoff game, it's going to be awesome!Tonight is the first game of the series, Edmonton vs. Detroit. It is on TV at 5:00, I am leaving work early to catch it at the local pub. GO OILERS!!! Time for me to get out the copper and blue hair dye again!

Even though Im not religeous, I still get to enjoy the holidays that are related to it :) Today is Good Friday, and I celebrated it by sleeping till noon and sitting on the computer all day.It was sooooo nice today, 19 degrees! So we had the window open and were cleaning out the apartment as well, packing stuff up. I didnt realize that we could stuff so much stuff into this little place.Just now I also added 2 new beer bottles to the site. I havent done that for about 2 months, so it really is a rare event. These are the ones I added:I think Thirsty Beaver is the best name for a beer I ever heard :)

Wow, it's been another long while since I've said anything here. Of course, things are just getting crazier the closer to summer it is.Nadu and I have finished almost everything for the wedding. All that is left is to pay for everything :o and some ofthe minor stuff. So the wedding stuff is not really stressing me out, I'm so very glad we took the initiative (wow, all my teachers were right!) and got everything booked a while ago.So Nadu and I are moving into our nice new duplex at the end of the month. My parents bought the place (yay!) and I will be paying them rent. The rent is going to be the same amount we were paying at the apartment, so the only increased costs are...well, everything else I guess. I just found out we can move in a week earlier than expected, which allows us to move our stuff over gradually over a week. No moving truck required! So at our apartment, we wanted to get our damage deposit back. We figured that the holes in the walls would create a problem :p So a few weeks ago we went to Home Depot, got some paint and filler stuff (you can tell I'm the home-fixer-upper type) and painted up. To my amazement, it looks great! Who know that this computer guy could paint? Another achievment to add to the list :)While Nadu was cleaning out a cabinet, she found a bunch of holes in the back. It was kind of funny, she was worried that maybe we had rats. I had to convince her that in Edmonton we don't have rats. That calmed her down, but then of course I had to throw into the conversation that we DO have mice here. Anyway, I checked it out, and no mouse could have made the holes. Their creation is a mystery to me. I told the landlord, and he didn't really seem to care, told me he'd check it out when we moved. Meh. Not my problem anymore. Now, next weekend I will be doing the 'Move out inspection' on the new duplex. There are some people living in there now, and I have to kick them out :p I just need to make sure there are no holes in the walls and that it is clean. Should be nice and easy, and we'll have our new house :DWell, that was a lot of stuff for one day. And no pictures, so not much fun to look at. Hopefully I'll have time to take a few pics of the new place, and I'll throw them up on here.

I don't want to talk about the game last night, so for once I won't be making a post about hockey :PAbout 3 months ago the sales guy left the company go to back to school, so we were left without anyone to sell our wonderful Internet to people. It was decided that since I already know everything there is to know about our product (price, technical specs) that I might as well take over sales as well as keep doing technical support and system administration here and there. And the bonus: I'd get a sweet commission. It may only be $20 per new client, but boy, does that sure make a difference on payday. I've been averaging an extra $400-550 per month extra on sales, which has gone a long way to help pay the bills :)Tonight I'm sitting at my desk, listening to Audioslave with the volume cranked way up (I'm the only one left here this late). When the phone rings, I turn the volume down and answer. I just thought of what a sweet situation this is as I made $60 in the last 20 minutes as three new people called in, whom I sold service too. That's not bad for a night of listening to music :D

That the Oilers make the playoffs. Is that so much to ask? Well, maybe not. Tonight they play the first of 3 games agains Vancouver in a row. If the Oilers win all 3, they will be sitting pretty in the playoff picture. Lose one or two, and things start to look bad.Fortunately, the Oil have won the first 5 games vs. Vancouver already this year, and Vancouver is playing like crap lately.Either way, I feel it couldn't hurt to give them a little help tonight. Let's hear it!Go Oilers! Boooooooooo Vancouver

What a wild weekend it was. I was working on a Saturday for the first time since I started working at this company. While at a house in the country doing an installation, I get a call from Nadu. She says 'Did you see Woogie (our pet frog) this morning'?Well, I don't usually look in the morning, so I said no. So she tells me that she is not in her tank. Woogie has escaped! This isn't like a dog running away...a frog needs to keep moist, and if it is out of the tank for even a few hours, it will die from dehydration.A little while later Nadu calls me back and says she found Woogie under a pillow by the bed! She was all shrivelled up and black, barely clinging to life. Nadu put her back in the tank, gave her some water, and nursed her back to health. Nadu - Frog Veterinarian! So, Woogie is back in good health after her near-death experience, thanks to Nadu. Hopefully she won't try to escape ever again - not like she can...Nadu put tape all around the top of the tank to prevent that!Nadu's Woogie pageOn a better note, I took Nadu out for a nice supper on Sunday night. It was our '1 year anniversary since I proposed to her'. I don't think she was even expecting me to remember it, much less take her out for supper. We went to the Sawmill for some grade-A steaks. Yummy!

My God, the date is so rapidly approaching. I am so very glad we got most of the big stuff for the wedding out of the way last year, cause trying to do it now would really, really suck!Today I got us a JP booked (justice of the peace). This is the person who will speak at the ceremony. She was really nice, haven't met her in person, but she was very helpful in telling me what I need to get done with regards to a marriage license and getting a certificate to help out for Nadu vs. Government immigration bozos - round 81 :)So, the list is being whittled down, I'm staring to think this might get done after all!Bagged & Tagged:- Ceremony Location- Reception Location (including food & booze)- Justice of the Peace- Sweet Party Bus Limo- Tuxedos- Wedding Dress- Bridesmaids Dresses- Photographer- Welcome BoardOn the To Do list:- Music- Rings- Guestbook- Learn to dance (may be too much to ask)Also, looks like my bachelor party is being well looked after by my buddies. Paintball in the early part of the day, a supper at Boston Pizza or something similar, then over the Chuck-E-Cheez for some G-Rated fun! Watch out for me on Skee-ball!!!

The Winter Olympics have been raging on for almost a week now. Canada as a whole is doing fantastic! But the only sport that anyone cares about didn't go so well...Today the men's hockey team lost to Russia, and are out of contention for a medal. And you know what? I really don't give half a damn. At the office we have a tv and satellite so we could watch the game. Here was the general dialog of the people here watching the game:*start of game* 'This is going to be a great game! Canada and Russia always play an exciting game'1st period 'Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz'2nd period 'Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...dammit Pronger, stop giving away the puck!'3rd period McCabe gives up puck, Brodeur makes incredible save. Iginla tries to beat 4 Russians, gives away puck, Brodeur makes incredible save. Bertuzzi takes 15th retarded penalty of tournament, Russia scores easy goal. 1 minute left, Rob Blake takes a Sunday skate around the net without a care in the world, gives puck away. Game over. This summed up every game Canada played. I may have been heartbroken if they were playing well, and just lost today by some fluke. But they sucked for a full week before, so this is no suprise. Meh.At least I can say that there were only 2 forwards who looked like they were trying, and one was Edmonton Oiler's own Ryan Smyth. Pat Quinn (head coach, top dumbass, don't get me started about him) played him about 5 minutes per game, and all Smyth did was pour his heart out the entire time. The other was Martin St. Louis, all 5 foot nothing of him, doing the same as Smyth, getting the same playing time. Brutal. On the other hand, Canada is absolutely kicking ass in everything else. We already have 18 medals, which is a record for Canada. Speed skating, cross country skiing, bobsled, moguls, skeleton - medals in all of them. Therefore, I am giving Team Canada a grade of B+. I would give them an A, but the clothing The Bay made for the team is hideous, and looks DO count.

All year we've been wondering 'where's winter'? I do believe we found it!Today's low temperature was -31, with a windchill making it feel like -43! That was sure a kick in the knackers this morning, after having months of barely below 0 temperatures. So I took a look at what the weather is like in Okinawa...the temperature difference is 42 degrees!! -24 here, 18 above there. Oh, these are the times I wish I could live there. But then again, I don't think they are showing any Olympic hockey in Japan, so perhaps I can live with the cold here ;)

Ah, the Winter Olympics are here...the perfect thing to get my mind off of the Oiler's horrible play of late :)So far Canada has 2 medals - 1 gold and one bronze. That would put Canada up by 2 on Japan (as I like to remind Nadu :D ). The one bronze that was won was by Jennifer Heil in freestyle moguls. The cool thing is that she is from Spruce Grove, which is about 15 minutes outside of Edmonton :)Of course, the only thing that really matters is hockey. The Canadian women are kicking ass as usual, beating Italy 16-0 and Russia 12-0. Some woman on the US team was whining and moaning about Canada running up the score on those weak teams. But when goal differential counts later on in the tournament, you have to score when you get the chance. I suppose she was just upset that her team couldn't do the same against their opponents (5-0 and 6-0 in their games). And the men start this week. I'm a little worried about that, as Canada has some pretty big injuries, and the next best team is looking really good (Czech Republic). At the office here we brought in a tv and satellite from the VP's house, so we can watch the games here :D GO CANDADA!!

On my last post, I asked for a little help to get the Oilers going, and wow, did it ever work. They have since won 3 in a row, and are playing again tonight against Columbus. Columbus beat Calgary last night in a shootout, so if the Oilers can win, that will be an extra point closer to the division lead! So, here we go again. Everyone together now:Go Oilers! Booooooo Columbus!

January is the worst month of the year...why? Because every January, the Oilers seem to decide to take an on-ice vacation. Rarely have I seen a more lackluster effort than the last couple of games. Now the Oilers are only 2 wins up on the last playoff spot, with a bunch of teams below them that are playing much better. One of those teams is playing us tonight, Anaheim. If Anaheim beats the Oilers, they are only 1 win behind. This really sucks, I want to go to a playoff game way more than any 'fan' in southern California does! So, I ask you all...it worked so well at the beginning of the season...give them your thoughts...your prayers...yourGo Oilers Go! And Boooooooooooooo Anaheim.

No, this isn't about the chick flick starring Jennifer 'Watch Out for the Caboose' Lopez. It describes what Nadu and I have been doing for the past 2 weeks. We are getting some of the last big things out of the way. The wedding is still 6 months away, but we want to get everything finished now :PToday we went to Moore's to pick out the style of Tuxedos for myself and my party, as well as get mine fitted. Two of my groomsmen showed up as well, but the lady at Moore's said there was no time for them to get done today as well. Too bad.So that is finally finished. Now only a few more things to go: flowers, JP, music, and limo are the big 4. We have already picked out the DJ, the brother of my friend's fiancee, but I still need to find out how much $$ he wants. Also, I think we've picked out the limo, but it is pretty expensive. So we need to find out if there is something cheaper. If not, the limo we are looking at is soooo cool, not like a normal limo at all.Other than that, nothing new has been going on. Tonight we are making our own sushi. At the asian market we picked up some salmon sashimi, which we can combine with seaweed, canned tuna, mayo, and whatever else we can find around the house. Should be good!

Woo hoo! The Oilers-loving people here at the office got to get off a few hours early yesterday so we could all go to a local pub to watch the Oilers game. It was the Mark Messier jersey retirement night. Messier played for both the Oilers (11 years) and the New York Rangers (10 years), who we were playing last night. The ceremony was THE longest one I have ever seen. I think the actual game may have been shorter. You can be sure when Messier comes back to Edmonton for his jersey retirement here, it will not be anywhere near as long :PSo we all went to a pub that was close to all of our houses and proceeded to have a bunch of beer. Nadu was nice enough to drive me there so I didn't have the car sitting there overnight. Then my dad came over as he was in town. It was a pretty good game, even though we lost. But as I said, the best part was leaving work 3 hours early :D

In past years I have not given a crap about the federal elections. I had a reason - I was too young to vote. And last election was about a year ago, but the same year there were 3 elections (federal, provincial, and municipal), so I didn't feel like voting. This year is different. I'm trying to pay attention (soooo boring sometimes)! But I've found something to be interested in - the commercials! They are so damn funny! My favorite is one done by the Conservatives trying to denouce the Liberals (the who to the what? Don't worry about names, nobody here cares either). The commercial shows Paul Martin (current Prime Minister) in the background with a red tinge to it. He looks like Satan, and it's complete with the evil music in the background. I was half expecting them to have drawn little horns on his head. Now, Liberal supporters, I won't leave you out. The Liberals are doing their own bashing of Stephen Harper (Conservatives guy). In their commercial, they focus on how evil Harper is, how he won't do this and that, he will destroy Canada and let Quebec leave. The best part is 'Stephen Harper does not support gun control'. Then it shows a big picture of a gun on screen, like Harper's gonna get elected and starting handing out guns to little children. Now, yesterday was the final English debate in english on TV. Yes, they will also do it all again today in French. To sum it up, it was 4 grown men bitching and moaning about each other, basically a big 'Yo Momma' contest.Paul Martin: Hey, Harper. Yo Momma's so stupid, she sold her car for gasoline money, then bought guns and shot everyone in Toronto! If you vote for me, I won't let my mother own a gun.Stephen Harper: Yeah? Well, Yo Momma's so poor that she ate cereal with a fork to save money on milk, then cut all the country's military programs!Jack Layton (NDP): Well, to both of you, Yo Momma's so...hello? Is anyone listening to me??Gilles Duceppe (Block Quebecois): Vive le Quebec! As you can see, it went nowhere. So Canadians everywhere are asking: 'What do I do? It's all so complicated!' Therefore, I am introducing my simple analysis of this year's candidates.Paul Martin - MoronStephen Harper - DumbassJack Layton - AssHatGilles Duceppe - DouchebagI hope this analysis has been as helpful to you as it was to myself.

I've been meaning to write here this year, but as always, time does not permit. Here's whats up:New Year's Eve was a blast. Nadu and I went to see Three Day's Grave at the Shaw Conference Centre. Nadu was with me right in the middle of it, getting bumped around. She even held my keys and wallet while I went body surfing! And a nice thing that night was that all public transit was free, and ran until 4:00AM. We took the bus and LRT there and back. The ride home took about twice as long as going there since the buses were making the trips only every hour. But I can't complain about a free ride!Yesterday Nadu and I met with a photographer, and we picked her to shoot the photos at the wedding. Phew! Another thing off the list. Now there are just a few more things to finsh off - flowers, JP, and sending out the invites are the big ones. What else...The Oilers are kicking ass, 2nd in their division, 6th in the conference and only a point or 2 out of 2nd place. Also, the World Junior Championship finals are on tonight. But I won't be able to see most of it - the game starts at 5:30. Who thought of that time? I feel sorry for people who live in Vancouver where it starts at 4:30. Obviously this is so people in the East can watch without having to stay up late. I hope you easterners appreciate it!!!And to top off the week, I got this little beauty in the mail. It is my lower numbered card, 5/5. Looks sweet, don't it?
