ネット上でペンパルを探す サイト
に登録して数か月が経ちました。
数人からメッセージが届き、そのうちのオランダ人と順調にメールを交換していました。
それがこの1か月ほど、また数人からメッセージが届き、
もう4人（アメリカ人２人・イギリス人・オランダ人）にもなってしまいました。
英文メールがスラスラ書けるわけでもなく、
楽しみながらも苦労しています。
そのうちの一人、
アメリカマサチューセッツ州に住む（50代の女性）に昨日短いメールを送ったのですが、
今日、早速返事がきました。
Thank you, thank you!
That was one of the most beautiful e-mails I have ever received!
This is why it's great to have penpals.
Famous writers don't have the same attraction to the places they write about that
the people who live there do.
I never know when I might see some article in a magazine or newspaper that you might enjoy,
and now I will be able to share with you, and of course to write real letters.
Sometimes I run out of space here.

もらってびっくり・・・
そんな感動してくれるなんて・・・
実は、ちょっと溜めていたので、
とにかく送らなきゃと慌てて書いたものです。
どんなメールを送ったかと言うと・・・恥ずかしながら、私の書いた文の一部。
先日散歩した 「多摩よこやまの道」 の事を書きました。
In Japan, October is the best season all over the year.
We're now enjoying sunny and comfortable days!
But it gets dark earlier in Japan, too. Around five, it's already dark.
A week ago, my husband and I took a walk "the path which has an old history
and a legend along the ridge". About 7 miles(12 kilometers)
Acoording to the history, the path is there over 1500years ago, and many
soliders (Samurai) walked through this path to go to the west districts in
Japan!
Fortunately we could see Mt.Fuji from the view point on the path!
How beautiful!
Actually we can see the top part of Mt. Fuji from my condominium in sunny
winter days when it is covered with snow.
But in autumn we can hardly see it because it has no white snow.
これまで数人のアメリカ人、カナダ人とメールのやり取りをしたことがありますが、
私の書く英文では、物足りないせいか、あっちから来なかったり・・・
私が書くのにめげて、送らなくて自然消滅・・・
ちなみに私のプロフィールはすごく簡単に書いています。
メッセージをくれる人は、幸い日本に興味がある人ばかりです。
苦労しますが、勉強になります。
皆さんもどうですか？？？
くれぐれもPCのセキュリティには気をつけて、

それからロマンスを期待している人もいるかもしれないので、ご注意を！
