I gain nine pounds while we were in Hawaii.(I gain six pound after I came back from Japan. So I’m 15 pounds heavier than few months ago.)I got upgraded to Hawaiian size from American size.Hula Grill Waikiki- Great BreakfastOur server was wonderful and friendly.I loved the pancakes. They were so fluffy.John loved fresh fruits plate, especially Mango. Ruth's Chris Steak House...The 10 oz rib eye steak was very good.It was perfectly done.Salad and side dishes were generous potionsHowever everything is overpriced.Nevertheless, the Early Bird Special (between 5-6pm) is worth it. Seafood Village....BAD,BAD,BAD!!! VERY BAD!!!I cannot say anything good about this restaurant.We had a good meal there last year.What's happened?They must have a new chef.Our whole lobster didn't look a whole.They must take out some of the lobster meat to use for other dishes.Outrageously Overpriced Oily Horrible Food.We would Never EVER go back there again!!!Don’t fall for the guy on the street handing out coupons or those you find in magazines! Phuket Thai Restaurant...Good and reasonable price food.I liked the Seafood Thai noodle soup. Plumeria Beach Cafe Restaurant at Kahala Hotel & Resort.The hotel is located nearby the”Beverly Hills” of Hawaii.From Waikiki, you drive thru the beautiful houses which you wish you own.There are dolphins, turtles and colorful fishes in the pound outside the resultant.I thought the food was so-so.Our steaks were over cooked and juiciness. People had seafood or fish dishes said their food were great..(Maybe anything would taste good after you had much alcohol.) 今回のハワイ旅行で体重がかなり増加しました。日本から帰ってきてから７キロも肥ってしまって最悪です。どうも薬の副作用の所為なような...ハワイでは三食外食で 食事の支度も後片付けもしなくて良いのでゆっくりのんびりと･･･食べ過ぎ。アメリカンサイズよりハワイアンサイズの方が大きめですよね～～～。ハワイのレストランは質の割に料金が高いです。観光地だから仕方がないのでしょうが...今回気に入ったのは,アメリカ人に人気のあるHula Grill Waikikiの朝食とRuth's Chris Steak Houseの５時から６時半までの割引メニューです。先回待ち時間が長すぎて食事をしなかったタイ料理レストランも美味しかったです。去年お気に入りだったチャイニーズレストランSeafood Villageはどうなってしまったのでしょうか？注文した全料理が古い油でギトギト。ロブスターは中身の肉が３割ほど抜き取られていました。(多分抜き取ったロブスターをスープにでも入れるのでしょうね｡）そして料金は目玉が出るほど高い。二度と行きたくないワーストレストランです。Plumeria Beach Cafe Restaurantはハワイのビバリーヒルと呼ばれる高級住宅街の近くのKahala Hotel＆ Resort内に在ります。イルカや亀が泳いでいる池でカラフルな熱帯魚も見れます。素敵な場所に在るレストランですが、肝心の食事の方はイマイチでした。私が注文したステーキはミディアム･レアと言うよりウェルダンで肉汁が無くなって固かったし、シーフードスープは生ぬるくて美味しいとは言えませんでした。でもメインに魚料理を注文した人たちは満足だったようです。 ワインをあれだけ飲んだ後では何を食べても美味しかったのかも？

We are back from Hawaii.We took a limo to the airport.White Plains Airport has very few spaces for parking.We arrived at the airport before 6AM, the parking lots was full already.The flight from Chicago to Honolulu was scary.href="http://s94.photobucket.com/albums/l89/smiling_moonface/blog/Hawaii2008/?action=view¤t=MVI_2159-1.flv" target="_blank">The flight from Chicago to Honolulu was scary.UA Boeing777 is an older plane.There was no video screen on each seat.We couldn't watch the movies on the screen far from our seats.That is not a big problem for me.I rather read a book than watch the movies on a tiny screen.What John and I didn't like was the condition of the plane.The gasket on the wing was coming off.Isn't it a basic safety maintenance issue?Oh, United is now charging us for the meal on the economy's flight.It was $5 each and we didn't think that was expensive compared to the food we can buy at airports.Air traveling is becoming like railroad or bus traveling. We rented a Mercury Mariner this time.It is much nicer than Ford Escape which we rented in Hawaii last year.Also, it came with GPS that told us to make an illegal U-turn. Leather car seats in Hawaii are not a good idea though.They get so hot to sit on.We stayed at Sheraton Waikiki for the first three nights.The location is good.Close to beach and shopping.The hotel room and the hall at the elevators were very spacious.We stayed at 6th floor.There were so many elevators, but we had to wait several minutes for ONE elevator to arrive.No wonder there are so many seats available in front of the elevators. 常夏のハワイから雨で肌寒いニューヨークに戻ってきました。我が家から近いホワイトプレンズ空港は小さな割にはビジネスの利用客が多くて駐車場はいつも満杯。朝５時にリムジンに迎えに来てもらって私達が到着した６時ごろには、もう既に駐車場は満杯だったようです。リムジンも言っても私達が利用しているのは超長型リムジンではなくて、タクシーより少し高級な大型車です。ガソリン代が上がって料金もウナギのぼりです。早朝割増料金も加算されて数年前の７割増でした。ホワイトプレンズからシカゴまでの二時間は、乗客の体重で機体のバランスを取るような６８人乗りの小型機。短期出張旅行の乗客が多いので貨物室が軽くなりすぎるとのことです。乗り継ぎのシカゴからハワイまでの９時間はユナイテッド航空のボーイング７７７機でかなり古い機体で各席にビデオスクリーンが付いていません。そんなことは大した事ではないのですが、翼の一部が問題があるようで怖かったです。(動画参照）ユナイテッド航空の国内線エコノミーでは、最近まで無料サーヴィスだった機内食を機内販売しています。一人前５ドルで、空港で販売されているサンドウィッチやチキンサラダと比べて安いと思います。ドリンクは無料サービスですが以前ほど頻繁にドリンクのサービスがないので喉が渇くと乗客がラウンジまで取りに行かなければなりません。航空運賃が上がるのと反比例でサーヴィスが下がって とっても損をした気分になります。空の旅も電車やバスの旅と同じような感覚になってきました。今回のハワイでのレンタルカーはマーキュリーのSUVマリナー。先回レンタルしたフォードのエスケープと双子車と言うことですがマリナーの方がずっと造りが良いです。レンタル会社のナビが付いて便利なのですがこのナビ，｢交通違反のUターンをしなさい。」と言うのです。違反チケットの責任を取ってくれるのかしらね？ハワイ旅行前半の三泊は今回初めて泊まるシェラトン・ワイキキ・ホテル。リモデルされるまではあまり口コミの評価が低かったのですが、去年のリモデル後は人気が出てきているようです。日本人の団体客が多く、日本人の結婚式も幾つか行われていたようです。ビーチにもショッピングにも近くて立地条件は抜群。各階のエレベーター前のホールや客室が、ヒルトンやマリオットに比べて広々しています。唯，エレベーターの待ち時間が長いのには困りました。エレベーター前に幾つもソファが置いてあるのに一理ありという感じでした。

My blue dog
Here is my new toy;Vivitar 6.0MP All Weather/Underwater Digital Camera- 6200W. I purchased this camera for the upcoming Hawaii and Greece trips.It came with AA batteries and a camera case.I also bought a SanDisk Extreme III 2.0GB memory card.The camera body is rugged and quit heavy.I wish it is a little lighter.The first time I saw this camera, I didn't like the color.But it grows on you.I don't mind this Golden poppy now.It has many functions for a $100 camera.I hate reading any "User Manual".It was a big job for me getting started.My first photo model was Duke.My first photo model was Duke.I took those pictures with the lowest resolution(640 x 480) John said,"Duke is blue!"Humm...Do I have to adjust the Exposure? I don't want to read the manual again.Well, I bought this camera for using in underwater, doesn't everything seems blue in underwater anyway? (Resolution 2816 x 2112) Not bad, right? 防水･水中カメラが届きました。もっと明るい黄色だと思っていたのですが、山吹色ですね。 アメリカではゴールデンポピー（ハナビシソウ)色と言います。カリフォルニアの州花です。初めてこのカメラを見たときはこの色が気に入りませんでしたが、段々気にならなくなってきています。このカメラ、最近のデジタルカメラにしてはかなり重たいです。個人的にはもっと軽い方が持ちやすいですね。値段の割に多種機能が付いていて説明書を読む根気が無い私にはカメラの設定をするのは一仕事でした。撮影モード(９設定)，ズーム４倍，動画も音声付で撮れます。シャタースピードが遅いのが気になり，高精度のメモリーカードを買い足しました。 最初のモデルはDukeです。ジョンが「Dukeがブルーだよ」ブルーですね。蒼い犬です。「青い犬」より「蒼い犬」の方が素敵な感じがしません？｢碧」も”あお”ですね。「碧い犬」は？象形文字や指示文字の漢字は視覚で理解できますが会意文字や形声文字だと複雑です。それでも漢字を見ただけでイメージが湧くから視覚効果充分です。さて、カメラの話に戻って．．．｢蒼い犬、Duke」色の調整をしなくてはいけないのでしょうね。光の調整でしょうか？又，説明書を読まなくてはいけないようで・・・「水中で使うならこの青色画面でも問題ないのでは?」と怠け者虫が私に囁いています。[追加] 解像度を最高に設定したら綺麗な写真が撮れました。

Cold Stone Creamery Strawberry passion.....so goodKay is 18 now!!! ♪♪♪♪ What a girl wants.....Thank you, thank you for giving meWhat I wantAnd what I need Roses from Josh, Camera & Coach case from Justin + many others.Cupcakes from ???? a trip to Seattle. ケイが１８歳になりました。親から見ると末っ子っていつまでたっても子供。（でもこの秋には大学生｡寮生活になります。ちゃんとやっていけるか心配ですよ～）今年は近くに最近オープンしたアイスクリームのお店 コールド・ストーン・クリーマリーで、アイスクリームケーキを買いました。美味しいですね～～。日本にもオープンされているようですがケーキは売られていないみたいですね。 ケイは友人達から沢山のプレゼントを貰って大喜び。春休みをシアトルの長女のところで過ごす為に今日は学校を早退して空港から旅立っていきました。初めての一人旅は心細いようでしたよ。

I'm very busy making arrangements for the trips. This month, Kay will visit Jenny in Seattle.John and I are going to Hawaii.In May, John and I will drive to Montreal and Ottawa.And then we will head to Boston for Amy’s graduation.After that, Amy, Lisa and I will travel to Greece.I won't have time to unpack my luggage.I have to live out of a suitcase.As a travel planner/event coordinator for my family, I'm extremely busy working on those trip planing.I haven't forgotten that two days after returning from Greece, Kay has her prom.(I already got a hair stylist for that.)This is the list of things I have to do. * Look for the best rental cell phone for Greece trip. * Check the activities that John would like to do in Oahu * Read the reviews of the Pet friendly hotels in Canada* Read the reviews of Iberia Airline (I'm worry now.)* Read the reviews of EVERYTHING!!!Today, I finally decided which Underwater Digital Camera to buy.A waterproof Case for my camera is about $200.I rather buy a Vivitar 6.0MP All Weather/Underwater Digital Camera for $100. I bought a ticket to Hawaii last weekend.I cannot believe that United charge us so much and they don't serve any food on the 9 hours flight from Chicago to Hawaii.ATA has filed bankruptcy last week.The rumor on the web said that the airfare to Hawaii will going up.It did.The United charges $500 more for NYC-Honolulu than last week fare. USA National Gas price map.Driving is costly now, too.The gas price in our area is $3.38.Also, the prices of necessity food items like milk and eggs have been rising at the supermarket over the last few months.I think the economic recession will cause the recession at our waistline. And that is a good thing, isn't it?What is the difference between "Recession", "Inflation", and "Depression"?Recession refers to the hairline,Inflation refers to the waistline,and Depression is their effect when I look in the mirror. "Behave yourself while we are gone." ４月と５月は旅行三昧の月になります。ケイがシアトルのジェニーを訪ねて行き、私とジョンはハワイへ。そしてハワイ旅行から帰ってきて直ぐにカナダへ。モントリオールとオタワまで車で行くので犬達も一緒に連れて行く予定で、ペット可のホテルを予約しました。オタワから帰って来て二日後にはボストンへ。エミの卒業式に参加する為で、ジェニーとBFのジェイソンもシアトルから駆けつけてきます。卒業式の翌日には、リサとエミと私はギリシャへ。ギリシャから帰って来て二日目には、ケイの卒業ダンスパーティー(プラム）ドレスも購入済み。ヘアー･スタイリストの人が家に来てくれるように予約を入れました。我が家の旅行コーディネーターである私は ギリシャで使えるレンタル携帯電話からハワイ・カナダ･ギリシャでのアクティヴィティーまで調査して準備しなくてはいけないので忙しいです。（エミの卒業パーティーのレストランも探さなくては・・・） 今日は水中デジカメをどれにするか決定。私のデジカメに付ける防水ケースが＄２００もするので、安い防水･水中デジカメを購入する事にしました。(去年１８０ドルだったデジカメが１００ドルで買えました。） 旅行で一番頭がいたいのはフライトです。最近 諸々の理由でキャンセルされるフライトが増えています。更に航空券の値上がり。ドル安，ガソリンの値上がりも影響しているのでしょうね。先週アメリカの航空会社ATAが破産申告してから アメリカ本土からハワイへの航空券が上がりました。ユナイテッドは一週間で＄５００も値上がりしたのですよ。そしてシカゴから９時間の飛行なのに食事が出ない。美味しくない機内食でも有った方が良いですよね。急な値上がりは便数が減って席が減ったかららしいです。既にATAの便を買っていた旅行者は他の航空会社から新たにチケットを買わなければならないらしいです。アメリカではガソリン代がマダマダ値上がり中。此処数ヶ月 食料品の値上がりは異常です。卵が去年末のほぼ二倍の値段になっているのですよ。アメリカは不況に突入しています。日本のバブル崩壊と比べるニュースが最近多いです。景気後退で私たちのウエストラインが後退する(凹む)かもね？
