The day before yesterday, I enjoyedo two persons’ speeches. One was about the ethic of self-improvement throughout the career strategy, the other the philosophy management of a company.
I remembered Honda Ken’s words, “There are no worthless jobs; if there’s any, it’s a job and people who thinks it worthless.”(無駄な仕事なんてない。あるのは仕事とそれを無駄だと考える人だけだ。)
I read his book soon after his speech. The following sentence has caught my heart and grown the quality of my daily life;
“The meaning of happy life is not to make a right decision; it's to make your decision right by your efforts.”(幸せな人生を生きるとは、正しい決断をすることではなく、決断を正解にしていくことである。)
I have made some decisions this summer. I don’t know if they’re right. What I do is to make concrete actions to prove that they were right.
Another speaker, Mr. Aoki Hitoshi, a Head of the Achievement, also made an impressive speech. He focused on the philosophy management. I’ve read some books about it such as “成功への情熱” written by Mr. Inamori Kazuo(稲盛和夫), the starter of Kyosera Co. and “ビジョナリーカンパニー2” by James C. Collins.
This time Mr. Aoki shared how to keep his company philosophy. Promotion and salary system was absolutely organized. His management is, in a word, “Clearness is power.”
“You must grow your wish.(願望は育てなければならない)” has impacted me a lot. I’ve had some wishes but I’ve never had such a way of thinking.
I feel my life starts better and better after Saturday.
