ついぞ伸び止まらなかった身長がひたすら恨めしくて、
ベッドから足がはみでてしまうみたいに、
何にも自分にしっくりと来なさそうだった。

こら！さぼるなよー、と話しかけてもみたけれど、

そっか、

文句を言って雨をやませることなど、言語道断。
女がすたる。

自由。

だから心配なんて。

しているくらいなら
どんどん動かなくっちゃ。

実は、10代の頃からの自分そのままの歌だということに、
改めて気づきました。

いつも "Because I'm free" の部分は、ゆっくりしっかり発音するのです。
シングルエィジ、９歳にして「自由になりたい」と言い放って、
周りの大人にコテンパンにされた異端児 Noir ちゃんへ、

御代 Paul Newman を偲んで、今日は、この歌を、
ひとことずつ噛みしめながら歌ってきました。

奇しくも雨・・・
