お話つくり

上の子の幼稚園では「Storytelling」と呼ばれる、「お話作り」の時間が始まった。

Elephants Birthday Party

There was an elephant and a lion comes to his birthday party.
And a wolf come in when they make a cake.
And the elephant goes outside with the lion.
They got to the playground to go play.
And the wolf comes and eats the cake.
He blew the candles and take the candles and eat all of them.

And the elephant and the lion come home and see the cake and the candles
were gone.
Then both said "Oh my goodness!" when the wolf come back inside， he see the
elephant and lion.
The elephant said "Oh my goodness!" The wolf said "Here is a good lunch."
He tried to eat the elephant and lion.
But he could not.
The elephant get water out of his nose.
The wolf said "Ahh， here is some water at me."
The End.

これは息子が言った「そのまんま」なのか、多少「校正」がかかっているのかは定かではないのだけど、多少の文法の誤りはあるとして、４才児にしてはナカナカの「起承転結」ではないかと、親馬鹿な私は喜んでいる（笑）。

それにしても、彼の中では「オオカミは悪者」になっている。オオカミには気の毒だが、どんな童話でも大抵オオカミは悪者なのである。ので、自然に子供心にも「オオカミは悪いやつ」になってしまうのだろう。この文章を読んでいると、赤ちゃんの頃からの「読み聞かせ」が反映されている事に気づく。

息子の好きな童話の中に「七匹のこやぎ」がある。実はこの童話はかなり「エグイ」内容なのではないか？と昔物議を呼んだ事がある。「こやぎを食べる」のもそうだし、「お腹を開けてこやぎを出して、石を詰めて」って言うくだりもかなりエグイ。

「こんな残酷な童話はよくない。」と言うような物議だったが、私の子供の頃の記憶だと、「そんなにひどい」イメージがない。これはたぶん、大人が感じるのと子供が感じるモノの差なのであろう。子供の頃の私は「オオカミのお腹の中でこやぎ達は元気にしていて、お腹からぴょんぴょん出てきた。」と言う話しになんの疑いも持たなかったものである。

息子の話しの中の「ケーキとろうそくを食べてしまった。」と言うのも、きっとあのオオカミのイメージがあったんだろう。これからも時間があれば、本を読み続けて行ってあげよう。良くも悪くもこうやって反映されていくのだから。
