北大阪急行電鉄南北線箕面萱野駅の次は、この日のメインイベントである「e-METRO MOBILITY TOWN」へ向かう。
「e METRO MOBILITY TOWN」は2024（令和6）年11月30日に開園した、Osaka Metro森之宮検車場内にある、未来の大阪の暮らしやモビリティを体感できるテーマパーク。2025（令和7）年10月19日までの期間限定施設である。e METRO MOBILITY TOWN閉園後は、2028（令和10）年春に開業する予定の中央線の支線の終着駅、大阪公立大学前駅（仮称）となる。
施設内では、中央線で走っていた20系電車を再利用した、Osaka Metroが目指す未来の大阪の街やモビリティを映像やプロジェクションマッピングで紹介するパビリオンや、自動運転小型電気バスの乗車体験、電動カートサーキット、空飛ぶクルマ「HEXA」の飛行映像の視聴や部品の展示などのアトラクションがある。
エントランスを入ると、立体的な400系電車の前面がお出迎え。

ここはフォトスポットになっていて、僕もスタッフさんに写真を撮ってもらった。
まずは、廃車になった20系を改装したパビリオンが並ぶ「ミライ体験エリア」から。
最初のパビリオン（車両）は未来の大阪の街を紹介する「ニュー・ワールド・シアター」。「未来のOsaka Metro広報担当キャラクター」の女の子、MAIちゃんが地下、地上、空の3つのパートに分けて案内する。未来の大阪の街の映像は、プロジェクションマッピングで映し出される。
続いての「ヒストリー・オブ・モビリティ」は、江戸時代の水運に始まり、大阪市交通局・Osaka Metroの原点と言える大阪市電、大阪シティバスの前身である市営バス、地下鉄、ニュートラム、そして未来のモビリティへと、変わりゆく大阪の交通のこれまでとこれからを学習しながら時を超えるタイムマシンのようなパビリオン。
「ミライ体験エリア」の隣には、「EV・自動運転バス」の乗り場と、MetroKichineのフードコンテナと土日限定でキッチンカーが出店する「屋外フードスクエア」が広がる。

バスは他の自動車や人、障害物の検知に前後左右に取り付けられたカメラの他、「LiDAR」と呼ばれるレーザー光線を照射し、その跳ね返ってくるまでの時間からぶつからない距離を計算している。バスにはあらかじめ立体地図情報を記憶させているものの、より正確な位置情報を把握するためにGPS衛星との通信や、道路に埋め込まれた誘導用磁気マーカ、経路に塗られた「ターゲットラインペイント」と呼ばれるLiDARが認識しやすい塗料などの最新技術が多用されている。
この日、「屋外フードスクエア」では「ホンマにうまい肉祭り～スイーツもあるよ～」が開催され、全国の肉料理の屋台が並んでいた。

僕は「ホンマにうまい肉祭り」で屋台を出していた、兵庫県・淡路島に本店がある、淡路牛のハンバーグと淡路島産玉ねぎのオニオンフライが挟まった淡路島バーガーの専門店「SHIMAUMA BURGER」の淡路島バーガーと、MetroKichineのOsaka Metro路線カラードリンク（御堂筋線）をスクエア内のテーブルで頂いた。

「サステナトレイン」の近くには、大きなMAIちゃんの風船が展示されていた。

「空飛ぶクルマエリア」は、空飛ぶクルマ「HEXA」の飛行映像の視聴や部品の展示をするパビリオンとフライトを体験できるコースから成る。しかしこの時は、肝心の空飛ぶクルマの現物がなかった。僕は展示されている操作スティックやプロペラと製品紹介の動画を見たり、スタッフさんの話を聞いただけだった。
「e METRO MOBILITY TOWN」に行けるのは2025（令和7）年10月までの期間限定ということで、予定に組み込んだ。「ミライ体験エリア」で描かれた未来の大阪の街並みやOsaka Metroの地下鉄、大阪シティバス、そして空飛ぶクルマや電気自動運転バスがものすごく印象的だった。
これらを実現しようとするOsaka Metroをより一層応援したくなった。
After the newly opened section on Kita-osaka Kyuko Railway Namboku Line, I visited "e METRO MOBILITY TOWN" park in Morinomiya Railyard, where visitors can learn and experience mobility in futuristic Osaka through the exhibitions. Six retired 20 Series carriages on Osaka Metro Chuo Line are reused as the pavilions. The park opens for a limited time between November 30th, 2024, and October 19th, 2025.
Going through the entrance gate, a 3-dimensional 400 Series front appeared. It's a photo spot for commemoration of a visit. I made a staff member take a photograph in front of it.
Next, I did "History of Mobility" pavilion, where a film about the history of transportation in Osaka is shown. Because the displays are in close contact with the carriage window, visitors feel like riding on a time machine while in the programme.
One of six carriages was refurbished as an open space with tables for resting, eating and drinking.
The bus stop for the electric self-driving bus and the open-air food court area are next to the "Future Experience Area".
I tried to board the bus a lap of course. During the trip, the announcement and video show how the bus runs its exact route and watches around to ensure safety. The bus is equipped with cameras and LiDAR sensors to measure the distance to other cars, pedestrians, buildings, obstacles on or around the roadway, and other objects. In addition to a memorised 3-dimensional map, it uses GPS location data, a magnetic guide marker, and "Target Line" paint on the roadway to ensure the exact location and route.
In the food court area, some regularly open food kiosks are standing. In addition to them, food trucks come to the food court on Saturdays and Sundays. The events are sometimes held there. On that day, a meat meal festival was held. I ordered a cup of "Misosuji Line" red-coloured soda pop at a kiosk and a fried onion hamburger at an event stall.
A MAI giant inflatable was put near the open space pavilion.
I also saw a "Flying Vehicle Area" featuring an electric personal flying vehicle, "HEXA". Though there is a flying field for "HEXA", no real vehicle for demonstration or visitors' experience was on it that day. I watched a promotional video, saw a propeller and a control grip, and listened to a staff member's guidance.
My most memorable attractions were "New World Theatre" and the self-driving bus. I want to support Osaka Metro to realise the mobility.
