On March 15, I visited The Railway Museum Japan with my Chika Takami rubber charm. Though it was my fourth visit to the Museum, it was my first time accompanying my Chika charm. So, I mainly gazed at and photographed the exhibited carriages associated with "LoveLive!" anime or Numazu City this time.
Before visiting the Museum, I bought a "Hokuriku Roman" bento boxed lunch at Omiya Station. This bento is usually sold only at Kanazawa Station. However, it was carried by the Hokuriku Shinkansen (most likely on "Hakutaka 556") and was specially available at an ekiben event at Omiya Station on March 14th and 15th.
I chose the 455 Series displayed in the museum's garden, nicknamed "Lunch Train 455", to enjoy this bento because the 475 Series, a similar carriage in specification to the 455 Series, had served as express trains on the Hokuriku Main Line (including the present Hapi-Line Fukui Line, IR Ishikawa Railway Line, Ainokaze Toyama Railway Line, and Echigo Tokimeki Railway Nihonkai Hisui Line), such as "Tateyama" (Osaka Station - Toyama, Itoigawa, or Tateyama Stations) and "Kenroku" (Nagoya Station - Kanazawa Station).
While eating, I could see the trains on the Takasaki Line and the Kawagoe Line passing the neighbour tracks.
Class EF55 was deployed to the Numazu railyard and hauled the "Fuji" express on the electrified section of the Tokaido Main Line (Tokyo Station - Numazu Station) between 1936 and 1949.
Among "LoveLive! Sunshine!!" anime fans, EF55 is famous as the carriage depicted in a spin-off anime "Yohane the Parhelion".
Numazu Railyard was located where Plaza Verde stands, opened in 1886 and closed in 1986.
The 485 Series served on many express trains during the Japan National Railway period because it was equipped with three types of electrification: 1500V DC, 50Hz 20000V AC, and 60Hz 20000V AC.
0 Series Shinkansen operated on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen between 1964 and 2008.
In the Railway Museum in Saitama, a kusudama decorative paper ball is showcased to create an atmosphere reminiscent of Tokyo Station on the opening day of the Tokaido Shinkansen, October 1, 1964.
The combination of Chika and 0 Series Shinkansen reminded me of a stamp on JR Central's "Numazu Gekioshi Campaign" in 2023.
183 Series "183 Lunch Train", exhibited in the garden between the main building and the south building, shows the different front signs day by day. On that day, it showed the "Odoriko" express sign.
183 Series operated as "Odoriko" for Izukyu-shimoda Station between 1981 and 1985, as well as 185 Series.
The 153 Series was called "Tokai" type because it started regular service in 1958 as the "Tokai" express on the Tokaido Main Line.
It served many kinds of express trains on the Tokaido Main Line, such as the "Settsu" and "Naniwa" (Tokyo - Osaka), "Izu" (Tokyo - Izukyu-shimoda or Shuzenji), and "Suruga" (Shuzenji - Ogaki), and came to Numazu or Izu-nagaoka Stations.
The Takasaki Line and the Kawagoe Line run along the east side of The Railway Museum. From the roof of the museum, fans of the "Love Live!" anime can spot the E231 Series on the Takasaki Line, the E233 Series on both the Takasaki and Kawagoe Lines, and the Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit 70-000 Series trains as they pass by.
The E231 Series appeared on "LoveLive! Sunshine!!" anime. The moment when Chika gazed at Sagami Bay over the train window between Nebukawa Station and Hayakawa Station is depicted.
