The cryptocurrency market has taken a rough tumble, leaving traders and investors wondering what caused this sudden downturn. In just 24 hours, the market has lost $622 million, slashing the global crypto market cap by 7.7% to $3.51 trillion.

While some coins managed to hold onto small weekly gains, however the overall sentiment is shaky, and uncertainty lingers.

Bitcoin, the king of cryptocurrencies, has dropped below the $100,000 mark once again, losing 5.6% of its value in a single day. For many traders, this psychological level is crucial, acting like a safety net for Bitcoin’s price.

Falling below it has caused some panic in the market, but here’s the silver lining: Bitcoin is still up 2.9% over the past week. That’s a glimmer of hope that not all is lost.
