From the Editor | “That Freedom Shall Not Perish”
The above heading appears on our cover under the name of this magazine to inform new readers of what The New American is all about.
We intend to — and do — create understanding about the principles of freedom that were so brilliantly articulated in the Declaration of Independence and later manifested in the U.S. Constitution. Looking at America through the lens of these principles, we also intend to — and do — shine the light of truth on the growing threats to our freedoms. Often that includes exposing the conspiratorial designs behind America’s engineered decline, based on an incontestable evidence trail that we have assembled in these pages over many years. Yes, there are mindless conspiracy theories, but there are also conspiracy facts , and it is the latter that we bring to the attention of our readers time and again, recognizing that only by exposing the threats and reacquainting our fellow citizens with the foundational principles that made America great can we hope to preserve and restore our endangered freedoms. But we have much to say about the culture war, as well. In fact, if we were to confine the scope of our magazine to politics, we would be remiss in our efforts to keep the torch of freedom burning brightly.
It has been said that freedom is a political concept. And certainly there is a measure of truth in that statement. After all, without a small amount of government to protect freedom, freedom cannot long exist. Nor can freedom long exist when the government breaks out of its constitutional cage and becomes powerful enough to run roughshod over the rights it is supposed to protect.
