God, Family, Country | Burner Kids

AT A GLANCE

• Burning Man may be X-rated, but that does not mean children are prohibited.

• The children of Burning Man have effectively been thrown into a den of iniquity without any moral compass.

• Some child attendees spent many summers at Burning Man and now attend as adults.

Burner phones are mobile devices that are temporary and disposable. “Burner Kids” bear an unfortunate resemblance. Their innocence appears to be just as fleeting at the annual Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada.

“Two local judges ... and the District Attorney still think that the party, with all of its sex acts and drug use, is not a suitable place for young children,” reads the blog Burners.me, which also recounts stories of “child molesters” and “registered sex offenders” who are serial attendees, and a “pedophile who got busted, and was found to have made plans to attend Burning Man for a kidnapping.”

Why not? This is what Burning Man’s principles of “radical inclusion” and “radical self-expression” are all about, right?
