Valentine-Varian House

Known as the second oldest building in the Bronx, the Valentine–Varian House was built in the 18th Century by a local blacksmith and farmer named Isaac Valentine. The building survived the American Civil War in the 18th Century where British and American soldiers sought refuge. Finally, in 1960 the house was converted into a museum exhibiting the history of the neighborhood. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is taken care by the city of New York.
