Rick Gencarelli, who gave Portland the sandwich haven, Lardo, added an Italian gem to his collection, with the establishment of Grassa. With whitewashed walls surrounding simple furnishings, this restaurant features minimalist decor, giving it a warehouse effect. The ambiance may contrast with the ideal notion of an Italian trattoria, but don't let that mislead you. The pastas and salads on offer, recreated in the authentic Italian style, are truly delicious. What makes the food at Grassa so special is that, even the pasta is made in-house, from scratch. Cocktails and red wines, that will delectably augment the food, are also available.
At Q Restaurant & Bar we wanted to create an inviting space to create new, rich memories, meet old friends, and make new ones. We created the space with an acute attention to detail, from our intimate booths which are perfect for date night, to our custom stained glass sconces which create a warm and inviting space to share a drink. The restaurant menu is hyper-seasonal and highlights the best produce from the Northwest, and from our local purveyors. Our menu of craft cocktails also features local ingredients and produce and changes based on the season. We aim to make Q the type of restaurant that is suitable both for a family dinner, or a romantic date night. Anyone walking down the street in Portland is welcomed. The offerings are diverse and based on produce and the people creating the dishes, which means there will be a wide range of dishes and styles, suitable for all types of people and diets. The staff is excited to breathe new life into our pre-existing management team. We are excited to create a more modern establishment that is focused on the little details and nuances of our hospitality industry.
