Cbs has inked Russell Wilson as a TV analyst to replace Matt Ryan, saying there's a chance that he could be, he could be an amazing TV analyst.

Is Russ gonna cook?

No.

I, I, I don't think so.

I- Russell Wilson makes me wildly uncomfortable.

When he says things, I can feel my skin crawl.

Like, when he did Mr.

Unlimited, that, like, that triggers my gag reflex, Fitzy.

So maybe that's just a me thing.

That's fine.

I, I don't need to, to see Russ in front of a microphone.

He's a little cringey.

A lot cringey.

Yeah, there's It's also cheesy.

Like, the We all have friends that- Cheesy you know, can pull off dad jokes, and they're funny.

And then we have the other friend in the room that, that tries the exact same joke, and the whole room just looks at him and is like, "What are you doing?"

Right?

Like, Russ doesn't realize he's in the latter of those two categories.

Like, he just doesn't have the timing or the whatever, the relatability, I don't know, any of the things that you wanna combine.

But, like, when you start talking about TV broadcasts, especially on an NFL game, so much of it is your ability to relate to the audience, your ability to educate and see quickly, yes, but also just are you a fun listen?

I don't think in society many of us flock to a game we wouldn't watch otherwise because of the announcer, and I don't think most of us turn off a game because we hate the announcer.

I think announcers are actually way overblown in sports in general.

But I do think on a game that maybe you're not passionate about, an announcer you love, you might listen to a little longer.

You having a good time?

You might sit there with the game a little longer.

Is that Russ?

Is Russ I think the best of those are the guys that you feel like, yeah, they're brilliant and they're amazing, but you also feel like you're sitting next to them at a sports bar and they're just explaining the game to you.

Greg Olsen does a beautiful job of that.

That is not Russ.

I, I This, this feels like the opposite of cook.

I don't know what the opposite of cook is.

Maybe takeout, but I'd rather order takeout than have Russ cook in the TV booth.

It's just not his personality, and I don't think I think the hardest part of it is he's a- not aware that it isn't his personality.

So I think it's gonna be a very, very vanilla listen when Russ is in the booth.

And Russ in the booth is gonna get bad games, and he's gonna get blowouts.

It's, it's just I'm out.

I'm out, I'm out.

All right, what about this?

We'll get Well, go ahead, Carol.

It's gonna be corny.

Okay.

It is, it is.

He, he should call Nebraska games 'cause it's gonna be corny
