It's just not every day that you see a first-place team also holding the first overall pick in the draft.
The White Sox used that pick on UCLA shortstop Rok Chalowski, a player with enormous ceiling, very respectable, enormous floor as well.
Just a, a reliable player that you feel like is going to be part of the big league mix at some point very quickly, and also possesses that future all-star talent.
Th- this is the kind of guy you anchor a j- a draft class around, the guy you anchor a farm system around, and the White Sox are then doing that.
They pivoted very quickly by going for some high school bats, then they added some college pitching, trying to build a well-rounded draft class and supplement their current farm system.
