White Sox 2026 Draft Picks Begin Playing in Minor Leagues
Several members of the 2026 White Sox draft class are officially beginning their professional careers in the minor leagues.

The White Sox minor league system just got a whole lot more interesting with the new draft class beginning to join the minor leagues just days after the 2026 MLB draft.
Rock Chalowski, Landon Tomey, the whole draft class went to draft camp in Charlotte.
There are actually behind-the-scenes video of, that draft camp on the team's YouTube channel.
But, in the days prior to that, contracts were signed, draft camp is now in the rearview mirror, and White Sox draft picks are beginning their professional careers in the minor leagues.
The White Sox took a ton of college talent in the 2026 draft, and the benefit of college talent is that they can quickly be assigned, quickly begin their minor league careers, and hopefully move through the organization.
On Friday night, four White Sox draft picks were assigned to the Single A Kannapolis Cannon Ballers.
That's, seventh round outfielder Clay Burdett, twelfth round outfielder Brayden Holcomb, thirteenth round first baseman Grayson Fitzwater, and seventeenth round outfielder Crew McChesney.
Burdett was the one of the four in the lineup for the Ballers on Friday night.
He was batting sixth and starting in left field, recording one hit, going one for four, but getting that first professional hit out of the way.
Of that group, Burdett and Holcomb are the two that really have my eye.
Burdett had a eleven forty OPS with seventeen home runs for Xavier last year.
22-year-old outfielder, great athlete.
Same thing with Holcomb, just ridiculously athletic with a ten fifty-five OPS at Vanderbilt.
He's just 21 years old.
Now, the news dropped on Saturday.
Rock Chalowski, the number one overall pick in the 2026 draft, he's headed to Winston-Salem.
He's done in the Bridge League and will go and join the Dash in High A.
So a guy who, was praised for his high floor, a guy who was praised for not being too far away from the big leagues, a player that could join the White Sox at some point in 2027 is already there at High A.
He's gonna begin his professional career and debut sometime next week.
So, between Chalowski, between some of the other draft picks that are in Kannapolis now, it's making these minor league box scores even more interesting for White Sox fans to watch.
