We have finally made it.
The 2026 MLB Draft is here, and as the names are announced in Philadelphia on Saturday, it will be an exciting time to be a Chicago White Sox fan.
After winning the draft lottery and three consecutive 100-loss seasons, it will all finally pay dividends when the White Sox hold the number one pick in the draft on Saturday.
That gives them their pick of the litter to take the best player available, and after a trade with the Pirates, on the eve of the draft, the largest bonus pool of any team in the league.
That aforementioned deal, which sent Jacob Gonzalez to Pittsburgh in exchange for a pick in the competitive balance Round A, really expands what the White Sox are gonna be able to do on Saturday afternoon.
Now, the first ten picks will be announced and broadcasted live on NBC and Peacock, with picks eleven through forty then taking place on MLB Network and picks forty-one through one thirty-five on MLB.TV and MLB.com to close things out on Saturday.
On Sunday, we pick up with rounds five through twenty to close out the 2026 MLB Draft.
And throughout the entire weekend, all eyes will be on the White Sox because they're a first-place team that's sitting with the number one pick in the draft.
And because they have that top pick and the most money of any team, Chicago will be able to really dictate how things flow and how things play out, throughout the entire draft board.
On Saturday alone, the White Sox will add five players to the organization, five picks in that first one thirty-five.
So, let's take a look at what selections they have for White Sox fans to prepare.
It starts with number one.
Number one overall, Rok Cholowski or Grady Emerson, the first name read.
The White Sox haven't yet tipped their hand.
I've predicted Cholowski to be the name.
But either way, the White Sox will be adding one of the top shortstop prospects in all of baseball to their current talent pool.
At number thirty-four, that's the competitive balance Round A pick the White Sox got for Jacob Gonzalez.
A lot of buzz about possible Nazareth Academy left-handed hitter Landon Tomey being in the mix here.
He's the son of MLB Hall of Famer, former White Sox slugger Jim Tomey, and he's been on the White Sox draft radar for quite some time now.
They've been wanting to get him.
They might not be able to get him with their second-round pick, so number thirty-four boosts their odds and their financial flexibility.
At number forty-one, the White Sox will look to probably continue putting their bonus pool to good use here in the second round.
Another opportunity to land some high school talent that slipped out of the first due to signability concerns, and the White Sox could realistically land three players in the top 30 if they play their cards right and decide to go top-heavy.
It's number seventy-seven, number one oh five, and then the second pick in every round from rounds five through twenty, to round out the White Sox arsenal of picks in the 2026 MLB Draft.
But it's going to be a lively weekend with a lot of talent joining Chicago's organization, so keep your head on a swivel, White Sox fans.
