Brandon Pfaadt Leads Diamondbacks in Key Game Against Cubs
Brandon Pfaadt looks to continue his strong form of late and lead the Diamondbacks against the Chicago Cubs, solidifying Arizona as a leading home-game team.

Brandon Pfaadt is on the mound here, tonight for the Diamondbacks, and he is a guy I would absolutely look to back, especially that the Arizona Diamondbacks were shut out last night seven-nothing.
And you've got Clay Holmes, newly acquired Clay Holmes going for the Cubs here tonight.
But Brandon Pfaadt has been out of this world since, being called up- Mm-hmm from that little triple A split.
Worked on the mechanics, worked on some mixing up the pitches, and the results, I think, speak for themselves here.
I think Arizona is worth a look here tonight at home in a bounce-back spot.
I really agree with that, and you're getting a, a really good price on them for, th- just straight up money line.
You're getting a, an minus, What is this for them?
A plus 100, you know, minus 105- Yep depending on where you do your shopping thereabouts.
But he has been great over the last 30 days.
Pfaadt, this is 33.1 innings pitched.
He, he only has 6.48 K's per nine, which is a little bit low, but he induces a lot of medium contact.
He's getting those ground balls.
His ERA is at 135, and, you know, he's doing his job and bringing a whole lot of stability to the Diamondbacks rotation, which they desperately need.
And yes, the Cubs bats have been absolutely on fire.
Over the last 30 days versus righties, they're coming in with a 260 average.
They're essentially a top 10 offense versus righties over the last 30 days, the Cubs, this is.
But I will take Pfaadt at a plus money price, essentially, at home in a bounce-back spot because not only have the Diamondbacks haven't been good, they're in the thick of the NL wild card race.
I will take them at, at near even money in a, in a coin flip game.
Interesting that, they had a deal in place with the Mets to acquire Clay Holmes at the trade deadline that was- Right 86ed last minute, right?
Mm-hmm.
Because I guess there was some concern about the minor leaguer that the Diamondbacks were gonna use in that trade, and it, it was, Basically, they backed out at the last second.
Instead, he ends up on his way to Chicago.
But, he would've been good for, Arizona as well.
But I think Brandon Pfaadt has just been He's been really, really good, and, I think the Cubs bats, as, hot as they have been- Mm-hmm good pitching, beats good hitting, I think, any day of the week, and at that price at home in a bounce-back spot, yep, I'll do it.
Not to mention Clay Holmes, what, what's he gonna go, four innings?
We don't know if he's even close to being stretched out enough here to count on him for six or more.
