Breaking: Chicago Bears Trade DJ Moore to Buffalo Bills
Chicago clears $16.5 million in salary cap space by trading veteran wide receiver DJ Moore to Buffalo, opening financial flexibility for other offseason moves.

The Chicago Bears have traded wide receiver D.J.
Moore to the Buffalo Bills.
That deal getting done on Thursday morning with mid-round draft compensation coming back to the Bears in the deal.
Full details not yet disclosed, but the trade will clear significant cap space for the Bears.
They gain sixteen and a half million dollars of salary cap relief with this, deal getting done.
That money could be used to replace, Drew Dalman at center after his unexpected retirement, could be used to, go and trade for Max Crosby or bolster the defense or on, a number of needs that the Bears are carrying into this off-season.
Either way, this, you know, sucks.
D.J.
Moore was a beloved Chicago Bear.
He gave Bears fans a lot of fun, memories, and moments over his three seasons in Chicago.
But ultimately, in my opinion, this is a move that needed to be done.
2025 was the least productive season of his NFL career, appeared in all seventeen games, fifty catches, six hundred eighty-two yards.
At the end of the season, it looked like Luther Burden was really taking over as Caleb Williams' primary option, and, that was with Rome Odunze not on the field.
Rome Odunze was the primary option early in the season when he was healthy.
Colston Loveland is emerging and getting better.
It's just hard for the Bears to justify a twenty-eight point five million dollar cap hit for a wide receiver that might be your third or fourth option in the offense moving forward, and that was the reality for D.J.
Moore.
So not an easy decision, but a necessary decision.
Now, the question is: What will the Bears do with the money?
They currently have, about twenty million dollars of cap space after the Dalman retirement and the D.J.
Moore trade.
They can get an extra fifteen million dollars by trading or cutting Tremaine Edmunds, and from there, restructures could do some heavy lifting as well.
So the cap issue is starting to become cap space before the league year opens on March eleventh.
That's also when this trade with D.J.
Moore will process officially with the league on March eleventh.
But they got-- They did do it.
It's not exactly addition by sub-subtraction.
Now it's on Ryan Poles and the Bears, to use this money to make the team more well-rounded for 2026.
