Full Details of D.J. Moore Trade Between Bears and Bills

The Bears made a blockbuster trade on Thursday, sending receiver DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills.
Moore had been with the Bears since 2023, as he was a part of that trade that gave the Carolina Panthers the number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
As a result, the Bears got the number nine overall pick and another haul of picks from the Panthers, including Moore.
In Moore's first year in Chicago in 2023, he made a major statement, finishing with 1,364 receiving yards with his quarterback as Justin Fields, which honestly makes that even more impressive.
Then his next season, where after the Bears drafted Caleb Williams, he finished with 966 receiving yards before ending his last season in Chicago with 682 receiving yards in 2025.
It's tough to see a player like Moore go, but it was definitely a good move for Chicago as it helped out in cap space.
The move gave the Bears 16.5 million in cap space, and now the Bears have roughly 20 million to spend in free agency, which will start next week on March 13th.
The trade details were released by ESPN's Adam Schefter shortly after the news broke.
The Bears are, the Bears sent Moore and a fi- a 2026 fifth round pick to the Bills and received a 2026 second round pick in return, which is a pretty good exchange for the kind of player that Moore is.
This likely will be the last trade that the Bears do before the start of free agency, as they could also free up more space by trading or releasing linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.
Edmunds was actually granted permission to seek a trade, recently, so it sounds like he's going to get moved in the near future, especially if the Bears have any more, trades up their sleeve.
Other players who could get traded to release a good amount of cap money could be, running back D'Andre Swift and, and, various other players for the Bears.
It's tough to say goodbye to a player like Moore, but it's definitely the right move for Chicago as they begin freeing up even more cap space to, sign some free agents to, to fill various needs that this, that this team has.
