Brown trade to Patriots the 'most likely outcome'

The seemingly inevitable slow burn trade of AJ Brown to the New England Patriots, Kyle Devorchak, is moving a little faster following a Monday morning report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, who began with the Eagles remain open to trading AJ Brown.
He then said they will be definitely engaging then after June 1st with the, the, the Patriots, and then he says a trade to New England is now considered likely.
this has been percolating for a long time.
Schefter is basically saying this is going to happen after June 1st when the money actually works for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Do we think this is gonna happen?
What will the implications be in New England?
Yeah, I've always thought this was the most likely outcome.
And as you pointed out, I think Schefter's covering himself a little bit because it's not a foregone conclusion.
We're still over a month away.
We still have the NFL draft in our way.
There's a lot of pieces that have to fall together for this to happen.
I'll just say that some of those pieces have already fallen together.
The last piece really is that on June 1st, the Eagles are allowed to split a forty million dollar cap hit between 2026 and 2027 that has hit them by trading AJ Brown.
That, of course, forty million this year alone really isn't feasible.
It's just a matter of timing, and it is awkward timing.
At this point, it means the Eagles will probably get the 2027 first round pick of the Patriots.
I kinda think Howie likes that.
I think if you asked Howie, "Is the Eagles-- Is the pick they would get going to be better than 31 next year?"
I think he'd say yes.
I think we'd all probably say yes.
So to me, the timing ends up working out quite well anyways.
It's a split that needs to happen, and it's one that I think probably will work out quite well for the Patriots 'cause they need this alpha wide receiver.
The only caveats are the draft has a way of derailing what have seemed to be foregone conclusions occasionally.
the physical could be tricky for a guy with a history of knee ailments.
but AJ Brown and the New England Patriots looking ever more inevitable.
