Bryce Eldridge Embraces New Number, Blocks Out Trade Noise
Giants top prospect Bryce Eldridge debuted a new jersey number at FanFest while addressing trade rumors, injury recovery, and his determination to cement a long-term future in San Francisco, per MLB.com's Maria Guardado.

So, the San Francisco Giants recently finished up their f- uh, fan tour in San Jose.
And certainly, you know, One thing we learned about was the Giants'.
Number one prospect, Bryce Eldridge.
He is probably one of the most Exciting players within the Giants organization.
Um, but also he recently underwent a number change.
Last year, he wore number seventy-eight.
And, And, you know, really those are just the numbers that.
You know, the team gives you once you are called up.
He changed his name to Number Eight, a move that was inspired by You know, probably one of his favorite players, Alex Ovechkin.
Um, for NHL fans who are, um, who may know who that is.
Um, but, you know, certainly he is one of the most exciting players to come out from pipeline.
He is obviously a player with immense power.
It certainly is one of the more exciting Players who have come out of the Giants organization in recent years.
He is a very young player, still.
Twenty-one years old.
Obviously, it's a little tricky.
Um, obviously, the Giants traded for Rafael Devers.
Um, earlier last year.
Um, but certainly, obviously, the, the, you know...
The tools that he brings to a team are very are very important, especially given the fact that, Um, the Giants really, this past offseason, haven't added a lot of talent.
Regard to their lineup.
Obviously, they have made additions to their starting rotation and bullpen.
Um, but obviously, You know, those moves that, um, for their lineup haven't really been made.
Um, which indicates, you know, whether or not, The Giants were willing to trade him.
Obviously, They had been rumored to go after numerous players.
Um, one of them being Ketel Marte from the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Um, but I mean, yeah, these moves, you know, obviously, It was unclear whether or not the Giants were exploring trades.
Um, obviously, if they were to get, one of these top players, Um, it would likely have to include Eldridge.
Um, but, but, you know, obviously, those rumors probably, You know, aren't going to happen.
Uh, the Giants really haven't been included in A lot of trade talks.
But I mean, he is a very, You know, intriguing player.
Obviously, probably one of the more exciting Players coming into next season, and certainly looking to have a big year for San San Francisco Giants.
