Chicago Bears Heading Toward Regression in Latest Win Total Projections
After a playoff run, a grueling first-place schedule and gutted roster depth threaten to derail Ben Johnson's second season as oddsmakers project a looming slide.

The Chicago Bears were able to have a pretty remarkable season in just the first year of, Ben Johnson's tenure in twenty-twenty five.
The Chicago Bears were able to win the, the NFC North for the first time since two thousand and eighteen, and they also got their first playoff win since two thousand and ten, beating the Packers in that, wild fourth-quarter comeback win at Soldier Field.
The Bears lost in the divisional round to the Los Angeles Rams, but, compared to where the team was in twenty-twenty four, I think fans would say that that is a huge success of a season.
While, it's worth noting that what the Bears did was pretty incredible, it's also, worth acknowledging that they did so with a, pretty last-place, schedule.
While the Bears did play, teams like the Philadelphia Eagles, they still, benefited from facing some of the worst teams in the NFL, and now that they have won the NFC North, it's only going to get tougher from here on out.
That, mentality is being reflected in the, the win total projections for the twenty-twenty six season as, PFF released the win totals for every NFL team, and for the Bears, it had them, regressing.
Go-- After a, eleven and six season, the Bears' win total is set at nine and a half on PFF.
The Bears, are going to be facing the AFC East and NFC South this season, which means they'll be playing teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, and then they have some, some non-divisional games against the, e-- the, Seattle Seahawks, the, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Eagles once again.
The Bears have had some roster turnover, but one thing we do know that it's not wise to bet against the Bears, especially with Ben Johnson calling the shots.
Even though the Bears have lost, players like D.J.
Moore and Drew Dalman, the, the offense isn't going to be the issue.
The defense was extremely volatile during the twenty-twenty five season, and while they did lead the NFL in takeaways with thirty-three during the regular season, the, the Bears still allowed the sixth-most rushing yards and eleventh-most passing yards in the NFL and were also tenth in points per game on top of that.
So if, this Bears team really wants to defy the odds and improve upon their nine-and-a-half win total, then it's going to have to be on the defense in twenty-twenty six.
