Detroit’s Linebacker Trio Emerging as One of NFL’s Best
What was once considered a developing position group has rapidly become the Lions' backbone, as Jack Campbell, Alex Anzalone and Derrick Barnes power a defensive resurgence few saw coming.

Everybody, Adam here to talk a bit about the Lions defense.
They just read an article about the Lions' defense and its defensive performance against Cowboys, which was pretty good.
This one highlights three individuals who have really stepped up for Detroit.
And that is our three linebackers: Jack Campbell, Alex Anzalone, and Derrick Barnes, whom I truly believe this trio of linebackers is the best Best in the NFL.
There's no other group I'd rather Have more than these three.
First, you've got Alex Anzalone, The veteran, that's just Goldilocks.
We all know that.
That flowing blonde hair when you see it.
He's been doing pretty well.
Hes been trucking along ever since he joined the Lions in 2021.
Has been a phenomenal signing.
It is just kind of one of our centerpieces.
Now, his accolades are not quite there, He's not really, you know, your typical star player, but what he does have is grit, Determination and leadership.
He gets the troops rallied; he knows how to bring the boys up.
To get the guys going, he kind of is the focal point.
Derrick Barnes, No.

He's just their glue guy.
Derrick Barnes can kinda do it all.
He's got an interception this year, four sacks and has just been absolutely outstanding Balling out.
He's on pace to set a new career high.
He tackles.
He has set a new career high in sacks.
His previous high was 2, so he's already doubled that in just thirteen weeks.
Derrick Barnes is a bit of an underrated guy, and now I know many people think, You know, maybe not so much anymore, but a couple of years ago, 2023 season: everyone recalls the missed safety he had on Dak Prescott.
He had a wide-open lane to sack Dak Prescott.
Missed him.
Went for a C.D.
Lamb, 92-yard touchdown, absolute heartbreaker.
How did he respond?
Oh, that's righthe had the game-clinching Interception in the NFC.
Divisional round against the Buccaneers.
One of the best, Probably the best, nomaybe second best, being the Rams was, It was pretty good; watched it live with Dad.
So that's number one, but number two, best moment in my Lions history was when Derrick Barnes had That interception.
I was live or there to see it live.
The crowd was insane, it was wild.
Im getting chills, actually, yes.
Thinking about it, and Derrick Barnes has really advanced.
Now, he has been a bit injury-prone, but this year, Last year, he was doing pretty well.
And last but certainly not least, Mr.
So to be an All-Pro, And if he's not a ho, the NFL, uh, it's gonna be a big mistake.
Jack Campbell Jack Campbell has been phenomenal this season.
3 forced fumbles, 4th in NFL, 5 sacks.
And is absolutely balling out, has 67 solo tackles; also 4th in the NFL.
Jack Campbell can do it all.
We saw it clearly.
A perfect example.
I mean, we see it every week, honestly, if you just watched Number 46, You will notice how good this dude really is, but especially last week against Dallas.
Cowboys In the first half, he made 7 tackles.
He had one forced fumble and one sack that honestly should have been a safety The Cowboys.
Jack Campbell, now controlling the Green Dot, Calling the defense has taken over for Anzaloni, whos taken that backseat role And is allowed to, you know, pass the torch to Jack Campbell.
Who, in just his 3rd season, might be our best defender out there.
And yes, I know Aidan Hutchinson is on our team.
