Is the Detroit Lions’ Super Bowl Window Wide Open Right Now?
They built the roster. They found their quarterback. They've tasted January football. But after a step back in 2025, the question in Detroit isn't about potential — it's about urgency. Is the Lions' Super Bowl window wide open… or already starting to close?

I got a fun little question for you guys today, and the question stems from, you know, the season ending, the Seahawks becoming Super Bowl champions, and that is: Is the Lions' Super Bowl window more open or more closed?
Now, this is a difficult question.
Obviously, the Lions have done much, much better than they ever have in recent decades and have had three or f- four straight winning seasons, most consecutive winning seasons since, like, the '50s.
They are doing well.
You're seeing teams like the Seahawks, like the Eagles, the Chiefs.
There's been three straight new Super Bowl champions.
no one has won it back-to-back since the Chiefs.
The Chiefs' dominance is slowly diminishing, it seems.
Mahomes also tore his ACL, so who knows how good they will be next year.
The Eagles couldn't make it back to, even the NFC Championship game.
Obviously, the Rams still look very good with Matthew Stafford, and of course, the Seahawks themselves, who just won the Super Bowl, looked very, very good this year, and polished, and ready to make another run.
But the real question is, is the window more open or more closed?
I gotta go more open.
I know it seems like we had a down year, and we did have a down year last year, but with everyone around us, I don't see any clear-cutthroat, amazing dynasty that I am terrified against.
There's no, you know, like '90s Bills, the ch- the Chiefs, the Patriots, you know, the, the Steelers of the early 2000s and the Ravens.
There's no one that has been just dominating for years.
It seems to be constantly changing.
So for the Lions, I think it's more open.
You know, we are coming off of back-to-back NFC North titles.
Yes, we did drop, fall to fourth place, but now we have a very easy schedule and an excellent chance to make a run at not just getting to the Super Bowl, but winning it.
So the Detroit Lions, to me, they have the pieces.
You saw Sam Darnold win a Super Bowl.
You cannot ever tell me Jared Goff cannot win a Super Bowl.
He's not gonna carry the team and do it himself, but if you put the right pieces around him, give him a good defense and maybe a sprinkle of luck Not even saying Darnold had luck, but Goff can actually absolutely win a Super Bowl.
So can this Detroit Lions team with the core they've built, the superstars around them.
We just need to stay healthy, I think that's the biggest key, and just get some quality play and a couple big wins, and the Lions will be right back where they were when they were two years ago, when it was NFC Championship game to 15 and 2 season.
So yes, the window is more open.
