DeVonta Smith Will Take Enormous Leap With AJ Brown Gone
With AJ Brown now being gone after the trade, DeVonta Smith has some big shoes to fill as WR1 for the Eagles. And many think he is going to take a "Jaxon Smith-Njigba type of leap" in 2026. He is surely more than capable.

I think that the Eagles got a solid deal here.
I think they got good value.
Now, when we take a step back, first reaction, and we think about A.J.
Brown being gone, no, like, this is not good to wanna move on from one of your best players.
At the end of the day, I still think they pretty much won this trade and got good value for knowing the situation that they had to get rid of A.J.
Brown.
Again, I wish A.J.
would stay here, but now it is time for DeVonta Smith to emerge as wide receiver one.
Once they drafted Mekhi Lemon, we knew it was completely over.
They also go out and trade and extend Dontayvion Wicks.
I just think with his personal interest, knowing his personality, and also him wanting to be the guy, right?
He wants to be that Hall of Famer.
He wants to be the number one option.
It just wasn't gonna work long-term in Philly, especially with all the scrutiny from the media.
So again, I'm ready for DeVonta Smith to step up and be that guy.
The Eagles view it as so.
We've heard that report this off-season, that DeVonta can make kind of a JSN type of leap.
So it'll also allow the Eagles to pay more of their young players here in the next year or two
