Dodgers broadcaster Eric Karros has suggested that Kyle Tucker should stop playing in games for a bit and be sent to the team's Arizona training complex so he can reset before the postseason, and this has sparked a debate among fans.
So Tucker went oh for five in the Dodgers 11 to five win over the Rockies last night.
He's riding an oh for 25 streak and he's been dropping fly balls out in right field.
Therefore, on the SNLA broadcast, Karros said that LA needs to make a change, stating, "I think you need to go to Arizona, change some things.
It's not ideal and it's not working.
I'd talk to him.
I'd have that discussion."
Dave Roberts chose to not start Tucker in their pivotal game last Saturday versus the Brewers because of how frustrated he's been playing at home.
In order for the Dodgers to demote Tucker and have him go to Arizona to reset, he would have to agree to it.
When Tucker signed that $240 million deal, we knew how different of a personality he had compared to everyone else in LA's clubhouse.
He's someone that's had great years on the field, but he keeps to himself mostly off the field.
And because he hasn't really connected with the Dodgers fan base, these extended struggles are a lot harder for him.
It's a challenge for the fans to support him, too, when they don't know him that well.
And Karros did point out that the Dodgers have taken this reset approach in the past with guys like Cody Bellinger and Chris Taylor.
The only thing is, is that this season is bigger than ever for the Dodgers with them chasing a three-peat, and sending Kyle Tucker to Arizona in the middle of August could either blow up in their faces or end up working out for them.
