The Los Angeles Dodgers certainly are still favored to win the World Series, but the month of August has not been kind to them.
Long losing streak, struggling in the ninth inning, and speaking of struggling, Kyle Tucker has had a really nice season in his first year for the Dodgers when he's not playing in Los Angeles.
But when he is playing in Los Angeles, the numbers are ugly, and Dave Roberts, the skipper of the Dodgers yesterday, said that he's starting to see the frustration when he plays at home.
So they didn't play him for a day.
Now, the good news is, is that this is not Philadelphia or New York, and LA fans are technically and typ- typically very forgiving when it comes to their players.
But I was sort of surprised that the skipper let this one out here, Tom.
Mm-hmm.
I didn't see this coming.
You know, this is not something that always comes to light a little bit.
He could have just said, "Given a day off."
but yeah, I mean, I, I, I guess this is what's going on with KT.
Yeah, I, I approach this from two different angles.
Are we looking at it from the manager team dynamic of he act- Dave Roberts is actually saying this, you know, verbatim, he actually is, you know, pointing to something directly?
Or is it Am I taking the approach of like, what am I gonna be looking at in Kyle Tucker's home road splits that is there a reason for that?
You know, I The thing that I wanna say is, like, maybe just taking him time getting adjusted to the sight lines in LA, like the hitter's eye in the back.
Like, is there actually some fundamental mechanical reason that Kyle Tucker is struggling when, in reality, he's an awesome hitter.
He did it when he was with the Astros for so many years.
He was good when he was on the Cubs last year.
Like, is there something in LA's park that is making him struggle?
Because he's very good on the road.
Like, there's a very stark difference.
So I wanna know if there's actually something different approach from that angle, or is it the, the team dynamic of Dave Roberts actually saying this is actually something pretty unique, and do we need to be looking at that?
Or do they just need changes spot on the roster and it could be that simple as a fix?
