Green Bay Packers Linked to Head-Scratching NFL Draft Move
The Green Bay Packers have been connected to a questionable move in the NFL Draft.

So the Packers' two biggest needs after free agency seem to be edge rusher and cornerback.
They traded Rashan Gary to the Cowboys, and remember, Micah Parsons is still recovering from a torn ACL.
Not only that, they lost Kingsley Enigbare to free agency.
And at cornerback, they released Dave Hobbs and signed Benjamin St-Juste.
Not really much of a move there for Green Bay, and they still have Keishon Nixon and Carrington Valentine as their two starters at the position.
So you would think that with their second-round draft pick, where they went first this year, that they would take an edge or a corner.
But The Athletic seems to disagree, projecting the Packers to take Chase Besantes, offensive guard out of Texas A&M, with the fifty-second overall selection.
Now, Besantes is a very good player, and yeah, he could help the Packers out for sure.
But their offensive line, even after losing Rasheed Walker and cutting Elston Jakins, is established as far as their five starters heading into twenty twenty-six.
So I don't think taking a guard with their top pick is the right choice.
I would think if I'm the Packers, if I'm Brian Gutekunst, I'm looking at how deep the edge rusher class is and how deep the cornerback class is.
I'm thinking, "Okay, you know what?
I could get a really good player with this pick," and especially at corner.
I mean, they, they were burned by not addressing the cornerback problem they had last year.
Are they gonna go into twenty twenty-six with Keishon Nixon and Carrington Valentine as their starters once again at the position?
I absolutely think that Green Bay should make a move for a corner here.
There's a lot of good ones available, or an edge.
You know, we don't know how Parsons or, or You know, not only do we not know when he's gonna return, we don't know how he's going to return from this ACL injury.
And, you know, for as much as Gary struggled in the second half last year, he was still a productive player for them for the majority of his career in Green Bay.
And Enigbare also was a nice depth piece for them.
So I think Green Bay should go with either edge or corner at number fifty-two.
I don't think they should take a guard, but we'll see what happens.
